I was helping my son out with his kingdom this morning, and he has only 14 skylanders and a spin cap of 2 million. I'd been put off grabbing Admiral Thumpback with kudos, Skeletal Cynder with wishstones and the two recently free characters because I didn't want to 'lose' the cheaper spins. And then I accidentally clicked buy on a swap force character I was looking at (I was tired), and the spin amount didn't change. I had assumed it would. So instantly, my son woke up to find heaps of new skylanders.

Posted just in case anyone else was working under the same misapprehension.

Correction: I just bought a 50 per cent off sidekick and the spin cost jumped from 2 million to 4 million.

I never spin anyways, my first one costed 2,500 and the second one 2,500,000.

The gap is crazy. Is that normal?

The spin cost depends on the number of Skylanders you have.

I suppose you added/bought a lot of Skylander between your first and second spin. But if you did take those spins one after the other it is indeed strange.

I thought the spin amount was based on the number of spins you have made. Your first spin is always 2,500. I'm not sure what the increments are from there. They used to offer free spins every 5 levels, but then started offering the spins anytime by spending gold and took away the free spins. Mine went from 2,500 to 2,500,000 but I assumed it was counting the free spins I had already made before that. If it is based on the number of Skylanders you own and not the number of spins, then it still makes sense to go from 2,500 to 2,500,000 because you can have a bunch of Skylanders in your collection and your first spin will always be 2,500, then the next spin will be based on the number of Skylanders you own. But I was pretty sure it was based on the number of spins you had made previously. It's odd, though, that it jumped when you bought the sidekick and not others.

When they first introduced the spin, the first one was 2500 for everyone. After that, it depends on the number of Skylanders you have. Mine also went from 2500 to 2,500,000. At the time, I think I had about 25-30 Skylanders, so it doesn't take much to get right to the top.

I'm fairly sure spin cost is related to Skylander count as I remember my spin cost going up considerably after adding a bunch of them via the bluetooth portal.
I looked at the spin cost, added Skylanders, looked again and it was way up, this was with no spinning in between.

I think 5M is the highest spin cost you can get but don't know how many Skylanders you have to have to get charged the maximum.

I only got one spin at 2,500,000 (actually, I think it was 1,250,000 when they had a 1/2 spins one weekend). After that it was at 5,000,000. But I'm sure I had quite a few Skylanders at the time, although I don't remember how many as my wife and I were having to split the ones we had due to the 1 per web code limit at the time. I'm glad they changed that.

The official support FAQ in game says it's based on # of Skylanders you own. My current spin price is 625,000, and I have 24 Skylanders.

My son's game has exactly 24 skylanders. His spin price is 4 million.

Sounds like whoever writes the code and whoever writes the FAQ need to have a new pow-wow!

Maybe it's also related to your kingdom level.
This would make sense as it is much harder to raise cash in a low level kingdom with not all sanctuaries available and less crop fields.
