Ok serious question, how do we manually save to the cloud or what can I do to force an automatic save.
I am having a great deal of difficulty manually saving so I can swap between my two devices. In addition, every single time I load the game this morning, it is asking me which save I want to use iphone (local) or ipad (cloud) even though I keep forcing a manual save from the iphone. The game says it is saving but is clearly not.
To save, I have tried:
-Options > Save to Cloud
-Using a single wish stone
Manual saving has been spotty ever since the ability to save was removed from the Social tab at the top and the new social menu was introduced.

I also switch between two devices regularly (a normal iPad and a mini) and always save manually via Options > Save to Cloud and wait till the message "Saving to the cloud" is gone before closing the app.
Haven't had any problems with that. Yes, it does ask me every time which save I want to use if I switch to the other device but the recommended version is always the right one (the other device I played on last) so no problem there. I have not dared relying on the auto save. I do see the save message appear several times during playing but I'm not sure an auto save is also done when closing the app so that's why I always to a manual save. Don't want to lose the last things I have done. Edit: I do agree the old way of manual saving was more convenient but functionally I don't notice a difference. And why do you say saving is not working? It's not clear to me. |

I see two things happening:
-I save to the cloud at 10am. But then when I try to load the cloud save on my second device, it will be a cloud save from 8am. -> The save is not overwriting an old save. -I load the save on my second device but upon loading, the game has reset to zero. -> The cloud save is corrupt. WiFi or wireless makes no difference.

That's indeed a save problem.
I'm glad my saves work fine. I do sometimes have a problem switching device that I do not get a prompt asking which save to use, local or cloud and it's just uses the local one which is older. I cannot say if this is a save problem though as it could also be the connection to the cloud fails somehow and it can't check if that version is newer. Or the cloud version is older and it is a save problem. Difficult to say but I think the former because when I do get prompted it is always the cloud save that's newer. I'm assuming now the logic of displaying a prompt is as follows: Check local save vs cloud save, if local save is newer use that one without prompting user, if cloud save is newer prompt user which one to use. (and with no internet connection always use local, but that's obvious) |
