Early every Sunday morning (about 01:00 GMT) gems are given out. To get any gems you'll have to at least have visited the site during the week beforehand. You automatically get 7 gems if you do and if you posted at all during that week you get an additional 3 gems. Then you get a completely random amount between 0 and 6 extra gems to spice things up. So the maximum you can get in one week is 16.


There you go. I was wondering about the gem system too.

IMO, gems should have more of a purpose than just increasing your rank. Gems should be the medium for other incentives, like buying certain items or features from a shop.

Yeah, but we don't have one of those. :/ I don't understand why we'd be able to buy anything though; wha'd we use 'em for then?

As I said, for additional features. Maybe it could be an incentive to increase your avatar size or sig limit, or maybe you can buy the option of having color in text (these are just examples). etc...

i agree, and any way i would want to spend my gems, look at it this way if u were a yellow sparx and you bout something you could end up being a red sparx again, that would suck
