I just tried putting Dark Ninja Stealth Elf and Dark Mega Ram Spyro into Giants (the new portal works with the old games!). They appeared as the following:

Series 2 Stealth Elf (Special)
Series 2 Spyro (Special)

I'd expect the normal Series 3 figures would work the same way, but it's a little odd that Dark Spyro S3 didn't show up as a Dark...

can new figs work on old games? like

Yes it does. It works just like SG Lightcores work in S:SA

For Spyro's Adventure, the Dark/Legendary figures were distinct characters. For Giants, they were simply special variants of the base characters, rather than being a distinct character. (To allow for the limited backwards compatibility that we saw, where SSA could still read them as non-Legendary/non-LightCore figures?)

I suspect that Swap Force continued the Giants-style of data, which means that Dark Spyro S3 would have been implemented as a Dark variant of Spyro, rather than a S2 of Dark Spyro. And Giants wouldn't know what that Dark variant was, so it gets ignored.

Did they increase the Collection count?

That has implications for GhostRoaster's Maximum Count thread if they do.

Yup. I'm up to 142 and haven't added in the Wave 2 SWAP Force figures yet and don't have the super-rare variants.

I play with mega ram spyro on giants and he had a elemental power boost.
He is a special on the collection screen(got the pose of s1 spyro with orange around) but still have the stun bug.
I also check all my spyros and dark spyro from single pack got less stat them the dark spyro from the 3ds pack.

does anyone know right in swap force in the other toys section it has the sidekicks.what i am enquiring is if it says there is 133 skylanders to collect the sidekicks are not part of the 133 skylanders are they if you know what i mean.for example if the game says there are 133 skylanders to collect and you dont have the sidekicks which i dont it wont say i have 125-133 if you know what i mean.

To answer your question, No, the sidekicks are NOT counted in the total of 174 Skylanders.

How does Dark Mega Ram Spyro show up in SSA? I'm guessing as regular Spyro, right? Not Dark?

oh good you know what.Its a shame that they dont release the side kicks as a pack in the uk as i find it annoying that it is a us only deal yet they have been implemented in to the other toys section of skylander swap force here in the uk.As there people like me who collect most of the characters for each of the games

It kinda sucks here in Canada, too... We had a (short) opportunity to get the SSA Sidekicks - when I went to EBGames, they only had Whisper Elf left, which lucky for me is the only one I really wanted, and I knew I wouldn't be able to spend enough to get more than 1 anyway - and no chance yet or in sight of getting Giantkicks, and Giants is now basically over! (Then again, SSA was very over when we finally got the SSA Sidekicks).
