Is there an optimum time of the year to sell? I would guess after Christmas since new addicts would be in play to find older stuff. Are variants better sold later? Just wondering...

I'm guessing BEFORE Christmas...when folks need to buy stuff and are stuck at home with nothing to do but spend money smilie

GhostRoaster is right, before Christmas is the best time. For some reason with both previous games, figures will sit on the shelves leading up to Black Friday. Suddenly the shelves are empty because people waited until the last minute, and they pay ridiculous prices for even previously most common characters.

As for variants, the faster you get them up on eBay the better. As more seem to surface, prices drop drastically. I'm sure Matteomax can agree on this, but the first variant of any particular one sells for insane amounts while subsequent ones drop. A perfect example is the Bronze E3 HotDog, are those even $100 any more?

Another good time to sell figures is right after a new game is released, like Swap Force! smilie People will be clamoring for figures they don't have, interest is much higher then say a couple months ago when Giants started to die off.

Right now is a good time to get rid of your unreposed guys like Boomer and Wham-Shell. They're both selling for a great price if they're in mint condition, because you never know if they decide to re-release him.
