So I'm creating a character to be my school's mascot for the otaku club. He is essentially a futuristic knight. He has full body armour, a sword and shield, and a helmut. He also has a Scyther as a pet (it was mandatory to include a pokemon). But I'm thinking he should have wings, but I'm worried it might alienate a lot of people, what do you think?

Sounds good but I think the wings would ruin it so keep it the same the pokemon pet is nice too I hope they pick yours!
