Well, super mario 3D world seems like furry-mario the game.

The new Kirby game seems similar to RtD, sequel? Magolor didn't actually die...

That was the best Nintendo Direct since E3.

Also, Braveru Default is basically a remake of Final Fantasy III by the looks of it.

Also I had the biggest smile on my face when they announced the new Kirby.

Also, I really like some of the experiments Nintendo is doing with lighting for 3D World. Those sunset levels looked gorgeous. Of course graphics don't make the game, but it's still nice to see that, visually and aesthetics wise, Nintendo is being more creative than 3D Land. I liked 3D Land, but the level aesthetics and visuals felt pretty generic at times to me.

Ehhhh... Wha?

I don't really see the relation in that way, other than the fact you can change the character's classes and there's the turn-based thing. I see it more as a spiritual sequel to 4 Heroes.

Collector's Edition, and release in early December (for Europe at least) are great news, for me at least. Pretty excited for it. smilie

Just look at footage of the DS FFIII (the one I was mainly referring to, by the way. I could of made that clearer, honestly!). It's got very similar charcater designs, and back stories. Then there is the battle system. And then there is the importance of a giant crystal thing in both games that looks similar in both. The list goes on, and I'm not the only one seeing these similarities.

Ah, I see.

Though, 4 Heroes also used a similar character design style (I mean, the models used in the game. Mentioned the spiritual sequel links between these two)... Plus, it's not really THAT unusual for FF games to have the whole crystal idea thingy within them - in fact, crystals have appeared in every FF game - yes, FF3 had you going to each of eight crystals, and Bravely Default seems to only have one crystal integral to the story, if I've read stuff right. Even FF4 had a whole "collecting eight crystals" thing as well. FF8 had a fairly important, it seems, crystal "pillar" (but, still a crystal!). The whole crystal thing is something to expect from Final Fantasy games, and most games set in that "universe"

Wait, so Bravery Default is set within the universe of a particular Final Fantasy?

Well, I've seen it described as a spiritual sequel to 4 Heroes, which was a Final Fantasy game, so you could count it as being kinda like a Final Fantasy game, yet it is also it's own thing.

That's kinda confusing, I guess...? As in, it shares elements of Final Fantasy games, but not sharing EVERYTHING, for example. Kinda like Kingdom Hearts - how that had elements and stuff referring FF games, but not being a FF game in it's own right.

Well, Kingdom Hearts is a bit of a different case. Yes, it's got plenty of original characters, but the main selling point of the original game was how it crossed Disney over with Final Fantasy. As there are tons of FF cameos, as well as many Disney characters. And as a result, it has spells and items from FF too, and other such things.

From what I was always aware of, I thought Bravery Default was it's own game. So when I suddenly saw all of these similarities to FFIII DS (no pun intended), I wasn't sure if this was intended to be a remake of a remake, or Square being a bit lazy (they've been shaky with me as a company nowadays).

Game looks good regardless though.
