Fan Idea for a Level Piece [CLOSED]

Today I was thinking about how far our favorite toy collection game had come. Spyro's Adventure had evolved into Giants and Giants is now turning into SWAP Force and it got me thinking about how every year, more kids *seem* to get interested in the games. But then I think to myself, "This kid may have saved Skylands from the Iron Fist of Arkus, but was he there to rebuild the Core of Light?" and I'm sure that question will strike me again with SWAP Force kids.

My idea, then, is what if we had a magic piece representing the Core of Light which acted as a level unlock which included the entirety of Spyro's Adventure? Down the road we could also see an Iron Fist of Arkus piece unlocking the Giants singleplayer story.

Just to clarify a few things:

These pieces would serve to introduce new players to the foundations of Skylanders by showing how all the events from the first two games lead into the newer ones.

I do NOT think these pieces should be brought out the next year after that game. i.e. I'd be fine with a Core of Light piece to be brought out in SWAP, but I think a Giants piece should wait for Sky4.

To anyone thinking Activision would NEVER do this as it would be a slap in the face to fans who bought the full kit years ago, think about this: Developers are always making newer "complete" editions of games that often sell for less than the standard version you bought months back, this wouldn't be a new concept. That being said, if they made a new Adventure Pack containing this and a figure or two, I'd say it'd be a fair price considering how old the games would be at that point.

Is this a cool idea? Am I a disgusting person for thinking of this? I'd love to hear your opinions guys. I think it'd be a real neat concept AND it would keep me from pulling out different discs anytime I wanted to relive the good ol' days.

Activision may release at some point a skylanders collectors pack that has game 1 and 2 or 1-3 depending upon when it comes. The game would prob comes with a portal and maybe some variant special (would be cool if they took 1 figure from each start set and made it some variant etc). Like say spyro from ssa, jet vac from giants and wash buckler from swap. I would say they could release it without a portal but it would cause issues with ppl buying this trying to play out of the box. OR they could include the past 1-3 games as a bonus when you buy say the collectors edition of skylanders 4 (think dark edition or the Walmart edition BUT with the past games as a bonus.)

They could go the DLC route on xbox live/playstation network/wiiu channel but that would involve them getting past the portal issue (ppl downloading it not knowing they need one) and the "kids cant have online".

I could however see like 10-20yrs from now if skylanders is dead in the water it coming back much like games from the 80's have as a downlaodable game (or whatever we will call/do with stuff then) of the game without the need of figures and a portal as it will be unlocked by game-play or points or something.

As for it being a token/item it could be, they could include the game in say skylanders 5 and just havea "ssa or gaints adventure pack that's $25 and includes the old games", but i doubt it.

Would be great for playing with new characters in old levels. There would need to be a lot of tweaks, but it would be WELL WORTH that $30 to buy it. If they want they could slap it in as a $40 one and I'd still get it. Being able to use my favourite new Skylanders in the levels from the older games would be awesome. It would make my wary of buying future installments, however >.>

It's the only thing I liked about Adventure Packs in Giants... They added more levels, so even though they were ones you'd played before, they still added more to the game since you can go through them with new characters.

Also, what about the 3DS versions? I don't know about that, I feel like it would be a bit unfair to leave 3DSSA out of the fun. Then again, they can just patch them, and it's a single player only game, which means it can't be "unfair", so I'm not sure why they couldn't... It's not a massive loss, though. While 3DSSA was amazing and could use a breath of fresh Skylanders, it served mainly as a levelling tool. But if we ever see the first two console games "remastered", I demand to have 3DSSA updated!

They make our investment in characters useless with the reposes, why not make the disks irrelevant too.

They need to make a game after Swap Force called Skylands: Trilogy. It includes a disk that contains all three games, and comes with a green base, an orange base, and a blue base figure. No giants, swappers or lightcores in this pack. No reposes, no new characters. You buy the starter pack, then look for figs. from the previous games in the store, because that is the point. So this way, you could paly, say, chill in spyro's adventure, and if you had swap force, you could play grilla drilla in giants and so on.

Personally, I would also like if if they just had an adventure piece which remastered one previous level. I stole this idea from spyroflame I think it was lol.

I think Lair of Kaos is a classic level which can be played over and over, and is brimming with gold that would make it very useful to add to a new game. This would also give them an excuse to make a Kaos figure.

I like the idea of a "hi def" version that is basically a remake of the first two games. and levels the playing field so all characters work in all games, etc. Much like how they remade Resident Evil on Gamecube. I could see that happening---like 3-4 more games down the road.

I suspect there will be a retro/classic "marketing" type product down the road, either for new customers who jump on board years down the road or as a way to milk more money. Who knows, they might even entertain making it work without figures.

I like your, idea, THGold! smilie

Maybe uncommon ones, so, S1 smilie, LC smilie, and since we don't know anything for SSF, let's go with Enchanted Star Strike?
