The creature saw Scratch go into the hollow and ramed the tree making the entire tree sweay. It then bit the tree tearing off some bark. Its tung then shot out almost reaching Scratch. The creature then gave up and ran at the others.
Sayan, whom was still out in the open, opted to keep the creature busy. "Come get me... you vile beast!," he growled as he ran by the cave. He was no Roark, but he was a tad faster then most leopards due to his prior experiences.
The creature roared a bloodcurdling roar and used its clawed hands to rip the trap off. It was very mad now and used its spiked tail at Roark. He then saw Nero was trying to climb a tree and shot its long toung at him.
Nero tryed to dogge but his leg got caught and the creature began to pull its toung back. "Help!!!" He sawba small tree root and quickly grabbed onto the root and held on tight to keep from being eaten.
Zedric dived down as fast as he could and snapped the tonque with his beak. He then flew back upinto the skyl but was hindered by multiple strikes from the creature.
Roark dodged the tail by mere millimeters. He had a scratch on his side from it, and then jumped up and swiped the creatured side with his claws before jumping backwards.

Scratch was still too stirred about the commotion, but now that he was pulling himself together, he still remained hidden in the same damaged tree. He hated to admit it, but he was embarrassed not to have lend his help, even if he was no match for whatever was that thing. But being as stubborn as he was, he slowly got off the tree, scoffing as if he didn't care if anything happened to them...

"Too bad he caught me off guard. I would have give that thing what it deserves." Scratch cockily said, though it was obviously to hide his lack of help.

"Of course I do. Seeing a creature as ugly as that, I was paralyzed with fear, and no, I am not ashamed to admit it." Scratch commented, pointing out that admitting it hurt. But instead of hiding it, he decided to tell it head on so that nobody bothered him.
"But I am not through yet. Whatever the hell was that thing, I am not going to let it bring me down next time." he then assured, being way too sure of himself. It really embarrassed him when he backed up from a fight.

"Something else you want to tell us about Nero?" Scratch said, with a very upsetting tone of voice. He believed Nero knew something they didn't and also was accusing him of hiding things from the group and leading them to that deadly place with mean intentions.

"Sure, that makes sense, but then again, how can we free her with him around? I may not be able to beat him, but let me use my specialty to at least incapacitate him." Scratch whispered, believing that at that rate, everybody knew already what his 'specialty' was. If he could blind the hunter, that would give the others plenty of time to free the mighty Eagle and finish him off once and for all.

"Right." Scratch whispered, quite surprised that Sayan agreed with him. But he knew that heading towards the hunter was a bad idea. The flapping of his wings would give him away far before he could reach the face. So he instead opted by crawling...

When Bronos got off his phone he walked to Marahute who was still in the cargo net hung over the pit. "Well looks like we have a buyer my feathered friend." He smiled evilly. "Tomorrow we are out of here." He said as he walked away deeper into the cave.
"Scratch, I'll distract him, while he's aiming, blind him!" he whispered. He then jumped out of hiding and raced towards Bronos, before jumping out of the way and started racing in a pattern, so Scratch could guess where Bronos's face would be next.

With no more time to lose, Scratch suddenly made his move. With the hunter unarmed, he went toward his face with blinding speed before he could reach the gun. He started scratching his face, in hopes that his claws would dig deep enough into his eyes to get the job done...

Marahute looked at Zedric. "Wait! We're over a pit! You'll have to lower me." Marahute said quickly before Zedric had time to free her from the net.
"GAH!!" Bronos covered his eyes and grabbed Scratch hard and through him off his face. "Gah stupid bird! You'l pay for that!" With his face bloody and scratched he could see a little and ran outside to his truck. He jumped in and drove off.
"Please tell me you are kidding?" Scratch sarcastically answered, getting up and swiping the dirt off his body. Though once he did, he realized that one of his wings were cramped. When he tried to fly, the pain took over and crashed.
"Oh great, what else is going to happen this day?" he complained, looking at his bad shaped wing. Flying was extremely important to his species, and now he felt extremely helpless. "Too bad I couldn't blind that greedy fool, oh but I hope the scratches hurt... very much." Scratch then said with a menacing tone of voice, apparently not intimidated by the hunter's previous threat.

Nero got to the control panel of the crain holding up Marahute and lowered her down safely. "You ok Marahute?" He asked.
"Yah, just a little shaken up." Marahute said. She then walked over to Scratch. "Thank you for giving that evil hunter a beating he deserved." She then saw Scratch's wing was broken. "You're hurt Scratch. Nero get something to help keep his wing straight."
Nero noded and found a first aid kit. He opened it and found some wrappings and splints inside. He brung the splint to Scratch and proceeded to gently put them on Scratch's wing. "This may hurt a little Scratch." He said as he gently pulled his wing straight and then wrapped them in the bandages.
Before Nero could even touch him, Scratch quickly stepped aside, not wanting any kind of contact with the wrapping "No thank you, I prefer the wound to heal by itself, as NATURE intended." he bitterly said, making himself clear that he despised anything human, whether it was good or bad. His inability to fly shattered his pride greatly, and turn his back on the group to avoid taking off his frustration on them.

"Regardless of your opinion of the humans, you NEED this.," Sayan sternly commented. "If you lose the ability to fly forever, your pride will be forever broken and you will forever regret this moment.," he continued. He knew that Scratch was quite prideful and hoped that it would encourage him to accept the treatment. He, himself, could understand the owl's feelings though ... as he hated the humans and the collar they left him with.
Scratch didn't knew if they all say that because it was true or just to bother him. But truth or not, the thought of never flying again horrified him. "...Alright, wrap me in that junk, but JUST this once." he bitterly said, with a tone of disgust.

"Glad you changed your mind Scratch." Nero said as he proceeded to straighten his broken wing. "This may hurt a bit." He said as he pulled on Scratch's wing to straighten it. He then wrapped it in the bandages. "There we go. It should heal in a few weeks." Nero said.
"A few weeks!? A few weeks! Are you out of your tiny little mind? I can't wait that long. Do you know how helpless my species is without flying!?" the owl complained, almost throwing a tantrum.
