with new technology, we may find a way to stop ageing. because of this, humans my live almost forever but if no one dying and people are still being born, the earth can not take such a high population.

so my question is, who will get the cure, and who will not. should every one get internal life, or should highly privilege people get it?

Right. It'll be sold for a really high price and all the people that have the money will likely buy it if they wish to be immortal. People will save up money to have it, which may decrease sales for a bit. And people that don't wish to be immortal die out. Probably leaving a few percentage of the Earth's population without the desire to become immortal. Which may result in there being population control. I think the world would be with a higher douchbag population as well.

None at all. It shouldn't even be invented. It should just lower aging for a bit and maybe help people live farther than 120.

But to be fair, we're already seeing this issue. Life expectancy today (in some countries) is nearly triple that of the expectancy from the Roman years. Living in the US or any other first world country, you can safely expect to live to at least 70 or even older, while in the Roman Empire, life expectancy was 28 at most. We aren't immortal, but we're living considerably longer, giving way to overpopulation.

Mars One is a program created by some Dutch group to send people to Mars, with the catch being that they can never come back (one way trip). The idea is to colonize Mars and create permanent settlements. Maybe that will help a bit with overpopulation, though I'm still rather iffy about the idea of going off to **** around with another planet.

though that would cause problems with the population and it would cost too much

That's nice wishing and all but if such a thing is invented, it's bound to be monstrously expensive. They can't just give it away for free if they want to continue making more.

I once read a book about an anti aging experiment(Fictional)
Basically they cheated death by reversing the aging process. (Mentally as physically)
Once they hit a certain really young age they start aging again. (And once they reach the "real" age where they took the experiment then they reverse yet again)
The whole book is about 2 test subjects that suffered slight amneisa as a result and they needed to find someone to take care of them once they get to young just in case.

I dont remember the title but if someone did something like that then the eternal life wouldnt be as fun as you would think.

What ye speak of is the "singularity," landlubber. And though there be some who think we can reach it soon, I, fer one, don't think we will before we all end up in the locker. There is a major factor that be slowing the growth of health care. And that be the forced digitization of all medical information by the bloody government.

But cancer is inevitable, it will happen down the line. As hard as we can try, we can never be truly immortal. >.>

If this happened, I can see something along the lines of Infinity Blade taking place.

1. The guy who invents it obtains a lot of money.

2. He gathers a bunch of people he thinks to be worthy.

3. He completely decimates humanity, and rebuilds it.

4. His chosen people essentially become gods, and all the regular people worship them.

5. Technology is considered magic to the mortals, and something only gods can use.

Thats my opinion anyway.

c. Our bodies deteriorate, so we'd eventually be really weak and slow like old people in today's world, the best there could ever be is just slowing it down, halting it is possible but very, very, unlikely.

Solution: Move to other planets or moons.

Of course there will be people who will want to die, so there's that.

Well, as long as you are a good person, you are gonna go to heaven. The equation is clear:

Being Good+Patience=Immortality
Immortality=Living in Heaven Forever
Living in Heaven Forever=Having Almost Anything You want (Mansion, yes, being God, No)
Having Almost Anything You Want= Win

So to sum it up, Being Good+Patience=Win

If the whole world was as compacted as new york city we could fit the entire world in less than the space of texas and could have the rest of the world to grow food and such in. Overpopulation is relative

But as to your original question of the cure of aging I think wealthy people would pay for it.

Eitherway, i'd rather die of old age peacefully. Being immortal would mean you'd have to die something more painful.
