So, I have 11 shrines, 6 legendary halls, 4 giants houses. I get a fair few gems per day, today so far was 24 gems via gifts and triple loading sanctuaries and the houses and halls. I also get a good chunk of wish stones via my shrines. I have 80 our of 81 Skylanders also.

So, question is, how is best to go farward, I bought Arbo to boost energy when he was on sale, I currently have 244 gems since buying him. Do I go for more radiant energy fields per 99 gems, boost energy, arbo already helps me here though. Do I go for more shrines when they're on offer and really boost my wishstone production for the rare stuff out of the well? Shall I buy more halls, then this gets me more gems or save them and spank them into the well? thinking more halls is better, lots more chances of gems etc out of the halls. But shrines always tempt me when they're on offer, but, having 11 already I get lots of wish stones already.

What about using gems to buy the remaining giant/mini/alter ego houses? For me the cost benefit on the legendary halls vs. wishing well dictates taking the sure thing and buy the legendary halls.

This is spot on. Halls have a better long term payout (provided you have a legendary to stick in there). The results out of the well are just too random. For every 1 bed and breakfast there are 100 bushes.

I'm going to buy another hall, this month I have 260 ish wish stones already, so, another hall will be easy enough and generates gems every now and then. I saw the shrines are on sale again, that's just soo tempting me right now I dont have an undead one yet, so, complete them. I will probably save up for a house at some point, but I only like ot buy them when a shrine is thrown in for the bargain.

Are you short on energy? With Arbo, I would assume you're already making as much as you can use, so a radiant field would basically just save you some gold. If so, houses are probably a better way to get gold.

Just something to keep in mind with the shrines. They pay out wish stones hourly. Even if you only check every two hours, and who doesn't sneak a check every two hours at work, that equals a conservative 6-8 wish stones a day. That adds up to about 50 wish stones a week which equals a legendary house every four weeks. That's just from shrines. That doesn't take into consideration totems or sanctuary payouts.

Personally, I love shrines. Using today's sale, I rounded out my collection. I have 3x of Tech, Undead, Earth, Fire and Magic. I have 1-2 of the others. I have 3x of the ones I do since those elements have the best crops to harvest. 30% extra water, life and air is usless.

I use Radiant Crops and Airships exclusively (wait for them to be on sale). I collected them slowly overtime when they were onsale. Both of those items have been 75% off at one point but 50% is more common.

The result is efficient generation of energy and efficient use of energy. This translates into faster gold generation.

The bonus is all the wish stones. I almost have all 10 Hall of Legend and have so many extra stones I can afford to chase B&B, etc.

Couldn't you earn even more gold by putting your regular balloons into service, plus enough regular fields to power them? Granted, it's more clicking, but even the long run missions and crops produce a net profit.

I've done the same thing as Charred. I currently run 50 radiant fields and 19 airships and you can argue that 19 airships are too many.

The current 81 Skylanders break down like this:

24 - Skylanders in Sactuaries
16 - Skylanders in their houses
10 - Legendary Houses
8 - One of each element on reserve for totems
19 - Airships

That leaves 4 on the bench at any given time but 7 of the airship captains should be slated for houses (Mini-Jini, Eye Small, Terrabite, Lucky Boomer, Hoppity Pop Fizz) which leaves me +3 on the airship.

Do you guys fly specials or put them in sanctuaries? I usually put the first sanctuary spot as a special/AE/giant (that doesn't have a house) and then I go back and forth on specials versus regulars in the sanctuaries. It's nice to get the bonus on gold but when it's a gem or wish stone it may as well have been a regular there and have specials on balloons.

I hold my hands up and admit I'm not really a 'tactical' player. Although I've found investing in giant/special houses and the hall of legends seriously improves the payout of gems etc. I save wishing stones for the altered egos and whatever the wishing well coughs up whist I'm trying to win them. I have a few shrines but as I work during the day I don't really get huge benefits from them as I can't collect regularly

This is how I lay them out

First Houses
Second Legendary Houses
Sanctuaries First Slot - Section order is #1 Fans/Giants/#1 Fans/Variants/Normal
Sanctuaries Second Slot - Regular
Sanctuaries Third Slot - Regular
Airships - Giants/Mini/Variants/Normal Elemental Bonus/Normal

I use the #1 fans in the sanctuaries because the payout is the same as a giant or an alternate (25% bonus). I never use anything that has a built in gold bonus the 2nd and 3rd slots of the sanctuaries for the reason you point out. There is no bonus for gem/wish stone payouts. I'd rather get the guaranteed gold from an airship.

I don't really do this to maximize my resources. It has more to do with the first setup I do in the morning. I'm typically working through my first cup of coffee an if I don't have a system I end up with chaos. I'm not what you would call a highly functioning person in the morning.

I forgot to add one thing - I hate the undead roster. There is nothing you can put in the sanctuary that gives a bonus for the first slot.

Put Lost Islands on your cell phone. Drink lots of coffee/water. I'm guessing you will need to run to a private area of the office once every hour or so

Unless it's the element of the day, I haven't been putting any regular skylanders in the sanctuaries. Given the "risk" of getting a wish stone or a gem, I believe that it actually costs more gold than it generates to put regular skylanders in the sanctuaries (other than in the first slot, which is guaranteed gold). In addition, I can't generate enough energy to fully stack my sanctuaries round the clock.

If you have a zillion radiant fields and Arbo and Ol' Mac, the energy cost calculus no doubt changes. But if your energy comes from regular fields, then your goal better be stones/gems and not cash generation if you stack your sanctuaries. And since its usually 1-2 stones/gems (mostly 1 for me), I'm not sure it's worth the cost.

I always put my most highly bonused skylander not in a house in the first slot of the sanctuary to guarantee a gold payout. Especially true for skylanders with #1 fans because you don't get their bonus gold if the skylander pays out a wish stone or a gem.

Houses also have the risk of generating energy, gems or EXP but there is no energy cost for filling them.

Life is too short for me to be sending skylanders on balloon adventures. Not worth it to me to generate another 10-20,000 gold per day (after energy cost expenses).

I agree with you on managing energy. It's easy to keep up,with everything if your willing to spend the money and I understand that most people aren't willing to cough up the cash for the uber premium companions. This is my one vice but there are times I plug my ears and yell lalalalala when I think of what I've spent.

Absolutely, at least until he gets a house. I really want a tech and undead #1 fan to fix the problem long term.

Pico - I do use Beatrix. But I don't trust her. Sometimes she doesn't give the bonus. I think it has something to do with crops planted under one element of the day and then harvested the next day under a new one.

I wonder if the new sidekicks will get houses. Right now they can use the giant's house and since they are all mini-giant's, they all have a house available.

The house thing is probably a good source of "gems" for activision but honestly it is starting to get a bit overdone. I literally have an entire island of houses and halls right now. And there are still alts with no houses
