I am curious what other people think about this. Does it really matter to you whether you have the card and sticker to go along with each of your figures? Would most of you feel your collection would be incomplete without them or could you care less just as long as you have the figure? Personally I would like it all complete but there are a few cards I am missing which I am okay with. Mostly Legendary figures that I have had to buy used.

I don't care about the cards or stickers one bit.
My kids, however, like to play with the cards, and the first thing they do when opening a Skylanders package is peel off the sticker and place it on their poster.

I have heard a lot of people do that as a sort of check list keeping track of the figures. I think that is probably the best use for them I have heard. Wasn't there a poster offered at Walmart back when Giants came out that let you put element stickers next to the figures you had? My memory is kinda fuzzy on that though asy Son and I weren't collecting at the start.

I care about them for completeness for my open set, but in reality it's the figure that matters. The iPhone app does just fine for inventory.

I prefer having them and would like to get them if I can.
If my only option says I can't, then I don't have it.

The cards/codes come in handy if you plan on playing "Cloud Patrol" on the iPad and now Android tablets. Most kids (my son included) love to have stickers.

I like having the cards and my kids love collecting them to show off to friends !
The stickers all get put on the poster by my kids too. Personally I don't mind but my kids would moan. I have the Bluetooth portal for putting figures on the iOS games so don't need the codes anymore. |

Personally I like having the cards and stickers. Heck, having its own unique card is the soul reason I kept the Platinum Chest when I got the IOS starter pack for Royal. Normally I would have sold it as a Chase variant, but the card made the difference. Now the trading cards I don't care about, which is odd, but those cards that come with the figure do matter indeed! I like having the stickers for the checklist thing, but those don't really matter to me either, at least not until I figure out what to do with the character picture stickers (the ones with the artwork featured on the cards). As for the in-game variant "checklist/code" stickers, I have no ideas what to do with those, as they have no poster. Again, the cards go in a binder with all the normal skylanders + item cards that come with said figures.

I like having the cards, but the stickers I consider almost useless. The codes would be nice if I had the mobile games, and a mobile device.

For me ...card, code, and sticker are a must..it show that you take care of you skylanders....I have never bought a used one...but if I did I would even want box and bubble. Just my two cents...

I always want the card, but not necessarily the sticker. I use the code as a catalogue, that way when ever someone wants to play the game, they select a few cards, and I bring the figures corresponding to them.

I find it weird that they never came out with a book to put the cards and stickers in how people do with sport cards. Also I don't know if they still do this but back in the 80's topps had a sticker books for football and baseball. The only problem with the sticker books though is that they were worth more without the stickers being put in the book!

I like to have the card and stickers but I don't need the. Found unusual uses for the stickers. I put them on some identical credit cards to tell them apart
I've been thinking the cards should go in a book as well. However, please no chase-sticker game. If it comes out, I'll make sure my kids don't see it or don't buy with my money. Collecting the figures I enjoy, we have fun with this. In my experience collectable cards/stickers are usually worthless especially non-sports. So many cards/collections that have no value. The production runs are too high, and popularity is a major factor. At least the toys look cool and can be used in game.

I think they're ok, but not required. If I could get a darklight crypt set for $5 without them or current eBay prices, I'd take the $5 buy for sure

I have all the cards and all the stickers for my collection...I've bought a few used skylanders off ebay and enough sellers offer them 'complete' with card and sticker, so there's no point bidding on one without.
During one of the "Buy $20 and get a sidekick" promotions, I grabbed a Skylander pencil case to get to $20 and I've ended up using it to store my cards.

This has been an interesting discussion.
Clearly, some collectors care a great deal about the card/sticker items, while others couldn't care less. One thing I'd like to clear up from one of the above posts, which seemed to correlate the presence of the card/sticker to how well cared-for the toy is ... I would opine that while that correlation may hold some weight, it certainly isn't absolute. I've purchased several dozen large lots of used Skylanders on the secondary market this year, and sometimes the ones that come with card/sticker are pretty beat-up, and sometimes the ones that lack card/sticker are in better-than-average condition. I would venture that the reputation of the Seller, the quality of the photographs, and the details (and correct grammar usage, etc.) in the listing/description tend to correlate better with the anticipated condition when purchasing used Skylanders.

I have to have the card/sticker when I'm buying a loose skylander, or else, like SimonC1138 said, there is no point in bidding. I've only misplaced 1 of my cards (Royal DT.. of all the ones..) during my move from NC to WV, but I'm sure its around somewhere... I have them all taped neatly on 2 large white poster boards and I use the boards as a holding place for my skylanders while I'm having shelves built for them. Each lander sits on its own little space so when my sister thinks its funny to take/move them around, I know exactly who is missing.

Not even a little. Actually, when I started collecting I threw them out with the packaging.
I only started keeping them when I started 'collecting them all', but they just sit unsorted in a pile on a shelf. |
