If you're used to not having the ability to jump, non-platformer games, doesn't mind Spyro and Cynder's redesign, and want to play as more than 10 characters with different abilities, then it could be a good game to you.

yep I can easily get used to not jumping because I have played demon's souls and dark souls and you an't jump in them well you can in dark souls but there is almost no reason to just for certain moments or just for the fun of it

Well,Spyro's thing used to be 3D plataforming :U it kinda adds a bit of freedom to be able to jump around;but Skylanders never got less fun because of it(specially since conveniently placed Bounce Pads made for hilarious attempts to attack stuff midair),and in SF it's a nice extra.

I missed jumping so much in the first two Skylander Games, but now, in Swap Force they can jump! It's awesome! I felt so restricted without jump, yes I hate the Bounce Pads, "real" jumping is so much better. :3

To explain it in the most broad terms, I think Skylanders is a kid-friendly hack-and-slash game. If you enjoy that sort of combat with simplistic puzzles and some exploration thrown in, then I'd say get the game. <.<
