Survival horror and side scrollers. Survival horror for the (usually) eerie atmosphere and the often varying artistic styles, and side scrollers for the simplicity, the fun gameplay, and the nostalgic value.

RPGs. both traditional like Suikoden, different like Mario & Luigi, and tactics like Advance Wars.
