Just in case some of you out there are as unobservant as I am... I was wondering how the hell I managed to capture a chompy since I didn't have a sidekick.

I'd gotten five chompy pods during the day, before I finally noticed something that looked for all the world like a stray green pixel. Low and behold, it was actually a chompy. About a third the size of a companion, they are little green monsters that wander around unless you 'capture' them by clicking on them. I must have inadvertently clicked on one without even noticing. If you don't capture them, they dig a hole.

Thinking I was seeing things, I zoomed right in and finally saw one of the tiny critters properly. Nothing in the quest descriptions quite prepared me for it.

I've received differing gold amounts for clearing an empty chompy pod, and can't tell yet if the gold is random or somehow related to how many critters you let escape and dig holes.

And here I was thinking the big chompy image sitting on top of the pod was THE chompy. The real critters are much, much.... smaller.

I remembered them from when they originally appeared in the game and knew to go looking.

It has been over 24 hours since I saw a pod now.

Oh well I have my five million saved up if nothing else I will have a new skylander to level up.

I am beginning to wonder how often the pods will appear.

I spun up the elf and got a pod straight away.

I have gotten three so far.

I too got them as soon as I got the sidekicks.

I have not sidekicks but I've had 4 pods. I almost always miss them while they're active. Even when inactive, there's typically been one chompy running around to capture.

Press power button and close app button simultaneously. You'll know it's successful because the screen will flash white for a moment, and there's a camera shutter sound if you have sound enabled. It will place the image in with your photos taken with the in-built camera.

It says next Tuesday will be a chompie invasion, should see some then. I haven't been getting them frequently at all and Gill Runt's second quest requires 5 active ones.
