So we haven't seen a half-priced gem sale or a cheap gem deal in quite some time.

Have they changed strategy?

It was only a few months ago they would put gems at 50% off and at the same time announce that cheap items were coming in a few days. Then when the gem sale ended, they offered various items at 50% off. In fact, its been a long time since any of the shrines were 50% off.

I hope this stinginess on their part doesn't last much longer. Full price gems and full price items are just too expensive for what they offer.

Agreed. I've got 750 gems saved up. I'm willing to wait as long as it takes before spending them all on half price shrines. Not even the current quest where you had to buy GM Chop Chop's hut for 350 gems to get the hut AND a free undead shrine was enough to move me. I'm throwing all my gems towards a wishstone-based economy, so shrines are the only way to go. With enough stones, you can wish for EVERYTHING. Eventually.
And I'm rejoicing today. I've only three shrines, and they're all fire shrines. It just turned midnight, and... another 80-odd stones today to add to the tally. Yay!

That's an interesting definition of the word lucky. I wish I was lucky enough that they stopped appearing.

You are completely right.
- There were 50% discounts in shrines some time ago. Now, 33% and very rarely.
- I purchased a 50$ pack with 7500 gems (50% discount), now that discount has disappeared and they give you stones or fields with regular gem packs.
- Also the hidden offers disapeared when I bought two .99/300 packs.
- The offer of the day used to be interesting, now only 400000 coins at 50% discount, who on earth buys that?
- Also "red" baloons used to have 75% discount, now they only offer 50% discount (200 gems for that baloon is overpriced in my opinion).
I hope it is not a change in the strategy, but putting companions at 3500 gems and reducing the promotions is a big mistake.

Ok, 7500 gems at 50% discount plus a Magic Shrine. I will consider it.

They added a last minute one....300 gems for $1.99 with a bonus 20 stones. It wasnt there when I first got the update.

Oh interestingly they removed this offer. It said it was going to last until the 18th, but it disappeared.
