So I was considering saving my gems (and hoping for a sale) for one of these guys. At first I thought I read Arbo cuts growing time in half then I read 25-50% less time, so he seems less and less appealing. If I sleep 8 hours overnight I just did nothing for me right.?.
Would you choose one of these two or add radiant fields? At this point radiant fields are more in my reach but I'll keep saving for a companion sale if that will actually happen...

Unless you het 300gem/.99 AND get Arbo, OlMac, Cali, and whatsisname lol on dale. They arent worth it.

Those 4 are grossly overprices. Insultingly even.
I really wish they would offer something to those who bought every friggin figure and scanned them in.

Weve paid enough already. $30 per companion is robbery.

Yeah. I can't see saving up 1500 gems for Arbo, let alone 3,500 for Ol' Mac.

Ol' Mac for 1,000 gems (his current sale) almost seems worthwhile. Unfortunately I'm about 500 gems short and have no desire to spend $10 in real money to make up the difference. Would be nice to get a decent hidden offer right now. I might actually break down and buy it.

I have been wishing for the 300 gems for $.99 for days now. Target was having a sale on iTunes cards so I'm ready if a deal shows up.

I got an iTunes card on sale too! Just waiting for a good hidden offer or something :-) hopefully before Ol' Mac goes back up in price. If not I'll save it for a future offer.

Arbo cuts the growth time, so you get more energy by virtue of planting more, which requires spending more gold to plant crops. If you have plenty of gold and want to turn more of it to energy through crops, then get Arbo. Ol' Mac doubles energy return, so you get more energy with the same gold cost; if gold is a bit more scarce, then Ol' Mac is better.

If I had to choose, I'd take Ol Mac. Similar long term energy gain, half the gold cost.

Of course, Ol' Mac is 2x as expensive as Arbo (in terms of gems) so you have to factor that in. If they ever have Ol' Mac on sale for 1,000 gems when I have 1,000 gems in hand, I'll probably buy him. Otherwise, I'll wait. The other option is to wait for radiant energy fields to go on sale and buy a ton of them. You can get 37 of them form 1850 gems when the fields are 50% off, which is effectively the same as having Ol' Mac.

I bought Arbo on sale, saved up my gems, so far, very pleased, turns Grave Diggers into 1hr, which as I collect hourly, really boosts my production. Plus buying some radiant fields on top has got me 15k an hour, which in turn lets me triple load the sactuaries and missions galore, which with 11 houses/legendary really boosts gem income. Ol'Mac is obviously very good, but even half price is major expensive, arbo for 750 helps me out no end, recommended on sale.

Ol'Mac is better to get first IMO. Always best to get double the crops without spending extra gold. Getting the crops twice as fast means twice the gold. Besides making you check in the game quicker isn't exactly good for me at times.
