Hi Everyone,

First post here at the darkspyro forum. I am a dad and my son is Skylanders crazy. I have to admit as a gamer myself I am too. I love to hunt for them as much as he does. I am also a serious photo hobbist. I was wondering if any of you are shutterbugs too and if anyone has cool original Skylanders photography to share.

Recently my son wanted Skylanders posters for his room. I decided instead of buying posters to shoot some original shots for him. I let him set the Skylanders on the portal and pose them for a group shot. He loved it. Anyhow... if you guys want to checkout how they came out take a look at the gallery http://arosstyler.smugmug.com/Other/Toys. Oh yeah and FYI not I am not selling these as prints or posters (I have been asked by people). I think that may violate Activision's copyright as the toy is the major focus of the image and it is not in an artistic scenario etc. These are just my personal shots printed and used in my own home. I think someone on the Skylanders team frequents the forum so I wanted to be clear.

For those of you that don't want to hit the jump and look here are a few of the shots.

This group shot is printed on a 30"x90" metallic paper in his room


Here is an example of one of the solo giants shots. It was fun capturing the iamge so the glow of the portal and character and the detail are in the final image. The backgrounds are all just colored paper from Hobby Lobby.

So cool! Thanks for sharing and I took a look at your link. Awesome collection! I really like that bouncer shot and tell her I dig the use of depth of field to solo a Skylander out of the group in the first 3 shots.

No skill for photographing myself, you'll notice.

But yeah, the depth of field effect is pretty cool, I love that shot of Hex were the other figures are still clear, but Hex is the only one in focus.
