I've played the related Wii U game. I didn't spend that much time driving around, but it is quite fun to do it and cause chaos.

I was going to buy it with the $30 eShop credit that I got from buying Shin Megami Tensei IV and Fire Emblem: Awakening, but I have less that 6,000 blocks left, and I need to save that size.

It's even more fun in the Wii U version when Chase makes comments such as:
After destroying other vehicles:
"I'll come back and give you my insurance details later!"
"Ah, they'll be fine!"
"Oh, great, whiplash!"
After crashing into and destroying an object made of lego:
"Ooh, that sounded expensive!"
After driving into water:
"Note to self: this isn't a boat."
After his vehicle explodes:
"I need to take more driving lessons."
