Last year my friend and I were feeling the pressure of the temperature during a horrific heatwave. Neither of us had an AC, and since we both had little to no money to spend I figured, "Hey, why don't we get some money? There has to be somewhere where we can." So we were driving around town, looking for anything that would appear as a plausible place of getting some cash, when we noticed a bank.

Suddenly it clicked. I looked to my friend and apparently we had the same idea running through our minds. So we parked by the bank and leisurely walked in. No one seemed to notice us, so we figured our plan wasn't going to be that difficult. While my friend distracted some of the staff with him putting on a show of "obnoxious and crude behavior," I went into the back of the bank. I wasn't able to open up any vaults, as I'm clearly not that skilled, but I noticed one of the employees forgot to close a slot in which he was putting money in.

There was more money in that slot than I'd ever seen in my entire life. Since I'm not that much of a horrible person, I only took about 500 dollars or so. I decided to make a quick break for it and ran to the front, where my friend was still playing in-character. The lady at the front desk noticed my pockets were filled abnormally full so she called the police. We tried to escape, but the staff managed to lock the doors before we could even react.

Minutes later, the police arrived in armed forces. They demanded I return the money or they would have to use force. I mean, seriously? Why don't they just mind their own business. I really needed an AC or else I'd die from this heatwave, plus I had my friend to think about.

I stood there, looked them dead in the eye and said, "No." They immediately sprang into action and pinned me to the ground, taking the money that I needed. I was wallowing in tears, the heat of the moment was too much to bear. I kept thinking to myself, How could this happen to me? What did I ever do to deserve this? I look over to see that my friend had escapes, which was a huge relief. She had managed to run out as the police charged in.

I was taken to the police station, where I would either have to pay a fine for my so-called "wrong doings," or go to jail for 10 months. I didn't really have a choice in the manner, since I had no money, hence my actions in the first place. I was sent to jail.

Now here I am, 10 months later.

You may be wondering how I was able to be in contact with all of you, if I had been rotting in jail all this time? Well, you see, when I was being stripped, I still had my phone with me. Obviously, the lady who was supervising me had a rough day, or she was really clumsy, or else she would have noticed it and taken it away from me. I was able to get really low service on my phone thanks to a nearby Mcdonald's that offers free Wi-Fi.

The police ruined my life with their corruption. I'll never get over it.

TBH if you didn't have any money how were you able to afford a car and causally around town? Last time I checked cars and fuel were very pricey..

My mother let me borrow her car since mine hadn't been working all that well at the time. Luckily for us, she had already filled the gas tank, so we didn't have to worry about it.

And seriously? I can't believe people are actually taking the police's side! Comes to show just how blind the people of America are these days...

Pretty much this. The first paragraph of the story is believable but it gets all fake when the bank scene comes up.

That'd be an awfully cheap operation than. Or they were maybe adding to the amount needed for the operation.

As I said, there was more money there than I'd ever seen. I'd say there was around 50,000 dollars or so...? Anyways, there was a LOT.
