This is actually one thing that I'm surprised no one has ever brought up before. Quite often in fandoms, the fans seek out VAs of the series to have them sign merchandise. Usually the best time to do so is during conventions and what not- it's fun to have something signed by the people who voiced a character/worked on a series and on the slightly less reputable side, it makes the worth of an item a lot higher to people buying online.

So I've wondered..why has this not happened in the Skylanders fandom? I think I've only ever seen one user with a signed Skylander, and it was the team, not an individual VA. What's especially interesting is that the Skylanders games have a cast of relatively well known VAs; Tara Strong, Richard Horvitz, Patrick Warburton, Dwight Schultz etc etc. The list goes on and on. Plus with the Trading Cards, even if a character doesn't have a figure (like Kaos and Flynn), they could still sign the card.

Recently in Ohio there was a convention and Richard Horvitz showed up randomly...if I would have known ahead of time I would have had my friend who went take my Kaos card for him to sign.

But anyways, with SDCC coming up in a few weeks and NYCC coming up soon, I thought this might be a great resource for people to figure out who voices who an potentially get them to sign their figure. Offhand from the ones I mentioned and what I know:

Bobcat Goldthwait- Pop Fizz

Might be cool to see who's actually gonna be at Comic Con though. I'm not sure if anything has been announced yet, but maybe some people that are going could ring in if they know.

When Bobcat Goldthwait is gone, years from now, that one autographed LC Pop Fizz could sell for a helluva lot of money.

...Especially as it's not something that's usually signed, like a card or a game ball or an autograph book.

Bobcat IS epic. I remember seeing him in a couple of things, especially the Police Academy movies.

Patrick Warburton is quite active himself, seen him in a bunch of things, currently as one of the stars of Rules Of Engagement, and of course as the voice of Joe on Family Guy.

I actually have an opened box (carefully opened so as not to damage) box of minimates signed by Stan Lee. Stan Lee didn't do anything involving Minimates, yet the box art mocks the cover of an issue of X-Men.

I'm actually working on getting a Kingdom Hearts 2 poster signed by as much of the cast as possible. (only have Quinton Flynn (Axel) ATM)

While I wouldn't pay any money to obtain an autographed Skylander, if I knew one of the voice actors one of a character I cared about and had a sealed version of said figure, despite the fact that I don't collect sealed ones, I might get it.

Someone who is in love with Kevin Sorbo (sp?) would love a signed Crusher.

And George Takei for Drill-X/Arkeyan Conquerton!

The problem is that the signature can't be verified as authentic. CGC certifies comics and if you attend one of their signing events you can get a special signature series certification which verifies the signature is authentic.

I say all of this because we need something for the toy industry. I think there's a toy certification company that will grade the quality of the toy, but not the signature.

Personally, I won't pay huge money for a signature because 1. scammers will be out there 2. you can't validate the authenticity of signature and 3. personal preference.
