Sorry if this topic was put in the wrong place anyway do you think that reposes and lightcore are a waste of money??? My opinion is yes because they are the same skylanders but only with a different pose and lightcore are once again the same skylanders but they light up big woop good job activison mabey instead of making reposes and lightcore skylanders you could focus on more newlanders sersusly how many people have a stelth elf and a stump smash it's insane anyway sorry about my ranting but plz leave your opinione below.

Not quite sure what your point is?
I have Legendary Stealth Elf and Stump Smash S2. I also have Lightcore Drobot, Eruptor, Jetvac and Prism Break. The ONLY figure I have twice in my whole collection is Jetvac because I got a normal S2 jetvac with the iOS starter set. I quite like the Lightcore figures, even if they are mostly a bit of a letdown from what they could have been. Prism Break is amazing, but Drobot? Not so much. I have not re-bought any figure I owned. So I have small collection of S1 figures and many more S2+lightcore figures. Waste of money? Only if you buy it when you don't want it. In which case it's your fault not theirs. |

Well, don't forget that the Reposes are unquestionably better. Better enough to buy the S2 if you have the S1? Maybe not. But if you find both in store, get S2. No question.
Reposes are the only figures who can switch upgrade paths. So you can buy all the upgrades on one path, then have Persephone switch you to the other path, buy all of THOSE upgrades, then you only have to visit Persephone whenever you change your mind about which upgrades you want to play with right now, it saves that you bought the upgrades on the other path. Reposes also get another upgrade that no other does, the Wow Pow. I have S1 Stealth Elf and S2 Legendary Stealth Elf, my S2 has an upgrade my S1 will never have. Also only Orange-base characters (like the reposes and Lightcores) unlock the Heroic Challenges in Giants. Green base characters don't. And finally, Lightcores (in addition to lighting up) have a big entrance POW the first time they enter a level, causing damage to surrounding enemies and breakables. So there ARE differences. Activision made sure of that, to try to lure people into buying the new figures.

@NINJAsk11, if only I had the money....
Had I known how much I would get into Skylanders at the start, I would have not got any S1 figures and enjoyed collecting them all as S2/Lightcore. The only S1 I would have bought would be the ones not re-posed at all. That said, I won't buy an S2 of a S1 figure I have. Sadly, that carries on to S:SF, I will only get figures that I do not already own. I just don't have the money to buy lots of one figure. |

Lets say if someone just got into skylanders and the person just started collecting but instead the person got into skylanders giants instead of spyros adventure, so its not a waste of money if the person is collecting the repose since the person don't have any of the S1 figures but decided to collect the repose instead, also i rather collect LC since i like the light effects, i don't worry to much about the Wow Pow or the Switch Path, i can always reset the figure and level it up again, it doesn't take me to long to Max level the characters. If you are a collector then it won't be a waste of money also if you want to collect all.

General consensus seems to be, it's only a waste of money if you think it is

I L-O-V-E the Lightcores. First one I got was Drobot (by accident. I didn't realize he was a Lightcore) and it was love at first sight. I love how the light up in game and on the figure. They just look hot (Eruptor is my fave~).
I like some re-poses more then others. Some are lame (Lightning-Rod) and others look way cooler (Sonic-Boom or Trigger-Happy). I also like their wow-pow's, so I'm all for them. What it comes down to is I'm a collector. I like owning them and seeing my collection grow in game.

Also in my opinion, i find S2 reposes skylanders looks absolutely way better than the S1, like the S2 Bash i like the details and everything and doesn't look big like the S1 Bash.

I actually prefer a lot of the S1 poses!
I think Stump Smash looks better in S1 than S2. Do ALL the re-posed figures feature the upgrades in the pose? S1 seem to be base un-upgraded poses while S2 are how they appear after upgrades. |

I've collected all the S1, S2, and currently released Lightcores and I have to say I prefer the S1 for all my guys simply because I like how they all appear unupgraded. It adds a sense of uniformity to the roster espescially since many characters like Wham Shell, Voodood, and probably the Giants aren't getting newer versions.

It depends on what your focus is - the game or collecting the figures.
If you're a gamer, one of each figure is fine - however you might want two of some figures so you can send each one down a different path (eg. normal Pop Fizz takes the beast path then you send lightcore Pop Fizz down the potion path). Figure collectors... yeah, they'll want 'em all. |

I bought a LC Prism Break when Giants came out, before finding out it didn't have a wowpow, but since I don't have any other incarnations of Prism Break, i don't mind. S2/3 & LCs aren't a waste if you don't have their original figure.
