Anyone ever work with a 3D printer or have access to one?

I was thinking it'd be pretty cool to create a Skylanders piece that holds the RFID chip from the Target Pre-Order bonus. It'd keep it protected *and* would look much more cool on the shelf.

I was thinking of using the basic design of the Volcanic Vault, but replacing the "lid" with the Target logo. Making the piece in two parts, so that you snap them together once you've put the RFID chip in.

Sounds good. Though I'd wait until we know just exactly what it unlocks before making said piece. Then make a piece that rather resembles/represents what it unlocks.

What is the pre order bonus?

A mysterious card with a RFID chip, no one knows exactly what it does, though it has something to do with upgrading Skylanders.

Just the TITLE of this thread makes me think of something I read yesterday, where a Skylanders Chess set was theorized. If I had access to one, I'd make that chess set (the chosen figures include Crusher and/or Tree Rex as the White Rooks, I think they'd have to be scaled down to fit on a chess board. And using real Skylanders would be expensive and difficult, especially since the entire Black side is enemies like Spell Punks as Pawns and Kaos as the king).

And here I was thinking I'd have to try to gain artistic ability and carve them out of wood, LOL! Totally forgot about 3D Printers.

As for the Target thing, I agree (somewhat) that it would make sense to first find out what it does. However, the Volcanic Vault or the Treasure Chest would make sense for an unknown, a surprise function...

I scanned in my HotHead and had an amazing 3D model on the PC in minutes!
You could take that mesh and modify it for 3D printing quite easily.

No artistic skill required

Can you scale it down, though? To, say, 75% or half size? Because that would be awesome, LOL!

Once you have the 3D model you can do whatever you want with it!

Yes, Scaling down and up is easy.
You can send it to Shapeways to print without needing your own 3D printer too.

Why don't you make it something to do with upgrades? Like maybe the fairy dust thing?

Plz post a how to use video of this program! And great idea for persephone but she's not coming bacj in SSF...

Maybe the piece is actually something that unlocks her?
