So, we're finally getting that Japanese port, eh? Anyway, I've been amusing myself by reading (and translating) the bios of 'landers in Japanese. Eruptor's is
Iraputa [Eruptor] is a Board of Education itself of nature lived in the ground of mistake remnants or in the sky, but it was launched to the scattering votes along with the Bun-mei by a huge eruption. Huang detonate their feelings immediately much everything in very short Iraputa. He is relaxed with alone in a pool of lava well to accommodate the anchor of their own for that.
I'm beginning to think that Google Translate made an error :P
Stealth Elf's:
It was decided that stealth Elf awoke among the holes in Ki old while I do not remember to be arrived there how a child is brought up by the creature, such as a ninja living in deep forest. Stealth Elf that hard at training of Shinobi earnestly source of his teachings began to to travel in order to find out the secret of the diligence of their own became a member of the Sky Landers soon.
Boomer's:
Boomer was a favorite sheep in particular likes blow things since I was young. It was Boomer given a lot of target blow went to the army of your troll, but he noticed that the work of the military is uniform and war. Boomers is a troll, but was not interested in war to leave the army by the chance to scoop from the town of trolls there. The blessed glory that he be invited as a member of the Sky Lander for the first time as a troll then soon after. Thus (Thankfully for Lambs) technique is came to be used only in much the bad guys his exposure.
More coming soon!
So what other differences/humorous translations of backstories do other regions have?

The art of Google, or online browser translator. I figure in the original Japanese dialogue, the text will make a lot more sense.

Google translate is only useful for people who know/study the language they are translating. I've used it several times for my classes and unless you know what to look for then you will get all kinds of crap.

Indeed. Actually, it works fairly well for Tao Bao. Though not as funny as the actual translations I've seen on some things.

Reminds me of the mistranslation that turned into an Internet saying: "All your base are belong to us" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A...re_belong_to_us. According to that Wikipedia article a proper translation would have been either "With the cooperation of Federation Forces, all of your bases now belong to us", or more literally "CATS has received all of your bases."
I'm an Anglophone (I only speak English) born and raised in a french area (Montreal, Quebec, Canada), so I've often had to turn to online translators, and so far I've found that Google translate has been the most accurate. (FYI, Bing came later, and seems to do a worse job, at least when I use in-line translating on Facebook). That being said, online translators seem to always have an above average number of problems with Asian languages. Perhaps it's the fact that it's not the Latin alphabet, IDK, but the translations are always laughable. I suspect perhaps the Asian languages are more organic, less rigid and structured, which would indeed pose problems for anything automatic.

The problem with Google translate is people go on there to get translations and just go with what they get. It's a useful tool if you know the language and can discern what is right and what is wrong. Most other languages have multiple words for our one English word depending on the context. Without knowing that, you may be saying something far from what you intended. And as mentioned, it probably does indeed do better with languages that use our same alphabet.
^And hooray for Zero Wing. Unfortunately it wasn't released here, but it is an excellent shooter.

stealth elf's translation does not even compare to what it tells in dutch
i tranlsated the dutch version : As a small child was Stealth Elf woke up one morning in a hollow old tree. She had no more idea how she got there. A fast-paced, ninja-like forestcreature from the deep forest took pity on her. For years she learned from him how they could fight. Silently as possible When she had completed her training she became a Skylander and she went on a journey to unravel the secrets. Behind her origins some words just changed, but not like the japanseese version lol shell i do more translations? its hilarous: pity, the creature took PITY on her, sorry 4 double post |

Actually, "pity" is the perfect word in this situation... Someone stranded, someone else finds them and helps them, people always use the phrase "took pity on" in that situation. It's basically a saying, "take pity on" means "help someone in great need".

Ah, that isn't one of the dutch words I know, LOL! Growing up I mostly knew "kinderen" and "snoopje"

From what everybody is saying, the figures ARE indeed being produced again to be released in Japan, so with Japanese packaging. For people who want figures to keep in the box, this is meaningless, but physically they're the same figures, they'll work the exact same, so could be good news to anyone who wants to open the boxes and let them out. I wonder about the collector cards and stickers, though.
