Or will she be available to purchase afterwards? It's safe to assume that Activision is providing stores with free LC Hex figures to give away as pre-order bonuses since every store is offering it, so I'm just wondering if they'll be available to buy at a later date.

At this point of time I'd say YES otherwise WHY bother? that being said; I do see her on the shelf eventually---perhaps at Swap Force launch time.

If Australia got her and jet vac, then they should be out soon. This summer.

It's kind of lame that they are coming with a re-do of a character so late in the life of Skylander Giants. If it was a new character, I know people would be mad, but I think it be smarter of them....it would be a true incentive. Being a re-do (a character that we have already seen released, regardless of the previous ones not being Lightcore) makes it not too exciting.

I say this based on the interest level I see in my kids. Prior to Polar Whirlwind, my kids had not touched their Skylanders in months. I had been holding the Scarlet Ninjini to give one of the boys when I gave the other one Polar. They played a bit Sat and Sun and they didn't seem too excited about it.

I guess it's good...saves me money, but with Infinity and Swap Force coming out....my wallet won't be getting a lot of rest.

I feel like it's a GUARANTEED that we will see LC Hex released separately, long before October. Mid-July sounds likely.

Right NOW LC Hex is only available with the preorder, but that's little reassurance since you can only get Hex when you pick up Swap Force, on Oct. 13. Since this is the first we've heard about her availability, everybody is jumping to the conclusion that this will be the only way to get her. The only indication towards this is that the ads say something like "Not previously available". They LOVE exploiting word-play, I think that's what's happening here, that they mean that WHEN THE AD CAME OUT she wasn't previously available, not that come Oct 13 she'll have never previously been available (which would still be a lie anyway, she's been available in Australia)

^FWIW, the guy at TRU said "she will be released on 10/13 along with Swap Force"...so unless he's misleading...that sounds like the date to me.

Well, they screwed with the Ninjini event:

Yet she was released about a month later.

Well to be honest at our TRU, the employees are all well meaning, but their knowledge is often very limited on releases. Corporate simply doesn't tell them much. Right now the promotions all say she will come out on 10/13, so that's what they repeat. Conventional logic or other indicators might say otherwise, but they will say what they have been told (which isn't a bad thing, IMHO).

^Guys, I'm as pessimistic as they come (haven't you figured that out yet) so I'm very doubtful of his comments...I thought it was a chuckle and as a result had to pass it on. I knew you'd all take the bait.

Anyway, I will overpay for a couple of these just to get the final count on my save file (I finally have Stone Whirlwind coming in, the last of the Giants variants I need) so I'll be done done done when she comes in. Well, except for the battle pack and 3-packs I need.

I'm gonna wait it out. I think when the current pre-order specials end, she will become available. Probably a Wham-Shell type of situation, but still available. Just a gut feeling...

I'm gonna wait it out myself, SwapForce is not drawing me in as of yet.

Some dude, when I went to the Gamestop event last Saturday, tried to tell me he found a Lightcore Hex at a local Walmart. He was like "Yeah, I just left that Walmart, and they had six of her left." I showed him my LC Hex, and I said "this one?" He said "yeah, that one." I called that Walmart and got on the phone with electronics in less than 1 minute, and the dude was lying. The worker, who is also into Skylanders, said LC Hex had never shown up.

Point is, dude was lying. It sucks, but I don't see this figure streeting before October 13th, unless stores put her out early, when they're supposed to hold onto her for preorders, but even in that case, that won't be until October.

I have a feeling she WILL be released, but will be so limited that most people that need her will have to resort to pre-ordering Swap Force.

A guy on CAG insisted he saw one in Kansas at Target, but of course he didn't buy it because the light up was "ugly". Sometimes I don't know if these people are just liars or ignorant of these things, but isn't it strange when someone claims they found something that isn't out anywhere else in the country they didn't immediately buy it or have any other evidence of it? I find it exceedingly hard to believe that one store just happened to get in a shipment that no other store got in.

I had a guy at TRU insist they had in Eye Brawl that was shipped to there "as a mistake" when the game first came out. You have to wonder how these people think these figures are shipped. They come in cases with precisely defined assortments, it isn't just some guy in a warehouse throwing whatever he picks up in a box. And each Wave is specifically coded and sorted, they don't just ship out whatever box they happen to trip across. I don't think he was being devious though, just relaying a story from someone else.

And many of us remember that EBay scammer that came on here in December and claimed his friend showed him a Thumpback out the back door of TRU. No photos, no other store that had it, just a "trust me".

And yeah, they make a point of saying it "never before released" in practically every store advertisement. I don't see them going back on it. They will want to push pre-orders all the way up until it comes out. But, come October we will all be swimming in Lightcore Hexes.

1: People want to feel cool.
2: People want to feel not left out (in the case of the lying dude about LC Hex; he was probably just trying to look like he had it)
3: People troll the internet.

I think it can be a number of reasons, but mainly one - if not all - of those three above. It is sad, because legit info goes a long way in helping people get what they desire Skylanders wise. However, the internet is full of compulsive liars (maybe they don't know they are lying), or people just wanting to rile others up, by fibbing.

Yep, the best response to people that make up that stuff is to go "Ok, whatever" or "That's cool" or simply nothing at all. They want you to freak out or beg them to help you or to argue with them. It only turned into a big thing with that Thumpback guy because it turned out he had scammed a guy on here, so was obviously up to something.

The bottom line is this, if someone really finds something new in a store, you can almost always tell if it is accurate by the store and location. Gamestop in the midwest. Walmart on the West coast. Target in the Southeast. And TRU almost never lets a new release go by without shouting it from the rooftops on a HTA. Secondly, if they really find something, they will almost always feel compelled to provide proof, you don't have to drag it out of them and almost always will pick it up (who finds something, knows it is a big enough deal to post about it yet makes no effort to prove it?). Thirdly, if it shows up in a store, you can count on listings on EBay in the very near future if it is accurate. And lastly, their report will almost always be followed up with other people also finding it - there are a lot of people looking for these things.

Yeah, I'm sure any LC Hex being sold within the US, is by sellers who bought them off of sellers in the US. I think that's what this one seller from the Nevada area does. I see this seller listing stuff unreleased here in the US as inhand, but with longer than normal shipping times.

If they were indeed out, there would be a mess of her on Ebay.

Look at when Giants came out, SSA stuff was gone from the shelves. I'm sure it'll be the same this time, meaning Hex will come OFF the shelves on that day, not go on.

Again: They like playing word games. When they say "never before released", this is only a marketing ploy. The technicality here would be that they mean "When the ad came out, she was never before released". Also, it's ALREADY a lie in the form we're meant to understand it, because she was released in Australia. Some "never".

I don't know what the stock was like at your stores, but in every single one of the stores around me, they're all still overflowing and restocking SSA figures. The Walmart near me still gets new SSA stuff in weekly. They certainly didn't discontinue any SSA stuff when Giants comes out, and I highly doubt they would to the same for Giants in October.

SSA stuff returned to the shelves in dribs and drabs later on, but nearly nothing could be found until Walmart mysteriously started shelving a bunch of SSA stuff. And my local Walmart, it was a one time thing. I've returned a few times and every time it had the same stock but fewer (e.g. 6 S1 Hexes to 4 to 3. Camo, Warnado and Dino-Rang to Camo and Warnado to just Camo. The latter hit me hard, since the second time I went was for Dino-Rang, and the third time I went was for Warnado).

Basically it seems like any SSA stuff found - other than the Starter and Adventure Packs - has just been stock that was left when Giants came out, that they haven't been restocked in SSA stuff (other than etc. etc.) since Giants came out.

I just wish they'd just announce the July release of LC Hex so people can stop fooling themselves into this paranoia.
