Guys, remember that the sale starts at 10 A.M. and ends at 2 P.M. .

Technically the sale starts at "Open" (which is 9AM here), and goes til 2PM. But really the only reason anyone is going is for Polar Whirlwind and for free sidekicks I'm guessing.. so there probably won't be a lot there after an hour or two..

I just got back with LC Pop Fizz, LC Chill, and Polar Whirlwind.

Just got back with Polar, free sidekick and poster. I had to explain to the clerk about the free stuff.

Mine had 12 and 8 ninjinis. They had no sidekicks and no posters and I was the only one that was even in the store. I got there at 1030. Seems like nobody really cares about activisions crap anymore.

Chesapeake Square Mall Gamestop (the one across the street near Best Buy) had a number of Polar. About 5 when I left a few mins ago.

just got back from the one in LOUISVILLE and they just had POLAR ( no NINJINI ) they gave me the poster and even had the side kicks there but refused to give my one saying "you have to buy a giant to get one free" I explained " it say's skylanders giants toy" NOT "A skylander giant" but he wouldnt budge...

Just got back. Mine had about 8-10 Polars. Didn't care about Ninjini. Was the first to get my Polar!

just got back after visiting two gamestops and even then not much people cared as i was there a half hour early. both had about 8-10 polars and 6 ninjinis and i was first there to get one. I was able to get a terrabite with it too and got a poster from each one

Wow. It was me and my nephew. I needed three, but was told "one per household" so I could only get two. Then when I asked for the sidekick, he said "only with a Giant". I told him that the email says with any Skylanders Giants you purchase. He said "right with a Giant" and I said this is a Skylanders Giants toy... So no sidekicks for me. It was the stupid manager who knows nothing about Skylanders. And I still have to drive across town to see if I can get PW from the other gamestop.

Also, we were the second ones in there and nobody else was there.

I went to 3 gamestops and all said its with a giant, it has to be a 14.99 giant toy. I scored 4 polars and 2 ninjinis and 2 sidekicks. Going search in a few to see if i can find 2 more sidekicks, gill and stealth elf's dont care if i have to buy a giant i need, just wan a set of 4.)

Stores aren't uniform in how they are handling this event. The stories vary based on the posts on Facebook. You definitely had to buy something to get the poster, which was lame IMHO. The ad made it seem that the first 25 people (guests) to the store could get one, not the first 25 purchasers of Skylanders merchandise. The GS I went to had a price threshold to get the free Sidekick.

The turnout at the store was small too. The PWs did sell out (only had 6) but there wasn't any mad rush to get them.

Weak, only had 6 polars (i got mine) as for their stock, they had 1 battle pack and half the pegs were empty -.- for "skylanders day" they werent really stocked for it. Still in search of my LC Pop Fizz and S2 Drobot

Honestly it is pretty typical of Gamestop to only have a few and not handle it very well/uniformly. The one I went to had about 8 or so whirlwinds and I got my poster. No sidekicks though.

See mine only knew about the polar and the half off on battle packs. He forgot the sidekicks till we brought them up...then he had to return what we got and redo it with the sidekicks -.- my gamestop is generally really well set but he seemed really misinformed about today. I havent seen him till recently though so i think he is new

I've decided I'll pass. I won't be able to get there @ opening, and my local TRU has Drobot and slam bam.

So, I was told about the Giant purchase requirement for the sidekick as well...TOTAL BS. I felt like there was a bait and switch. BTW, this "event" was a non event. I bought one Polar from three Gamestops. One employee, after trying to get me to preorder Swap Force (I said the jury was out) was telling me how Infinity was going to be "better" and a customer behind me said "It's not better, just different" and I was mentally high-fiving him.

My wife said she was pressure driven by another employee to pre-order Swap Force "You know you're going to get it, go ahead and pre-order"...my wife put the slam down on him.

The last place had a nice lady employe who admitted she and her son had over 100 skylanders (so we chatted for a few)...she tried to soft sell Swap Force but then I listed all of the goodies you get from Target / TRU and she just shrugged and admitted she got her stuff from TRU. FUNNY.

So don't they ship their singles in a box of 12...the six number is confusing to me...a number of places only had that number. I wonder if they are holding the other 6 for next week.

None of the locations were advertising the actual sale, so were it not for this site I wouldn't know anything. So epic fail on communication in the store. I would've loved to get the battle pack for $9 but you could tell they've been in there for a while (coloring was faded, major dust, etc) and of course those nasty stickers.

Mission Polar Completed... Good Job. Nice work, I definitely deserve this reward.

They had 1 Gill Runt and a billion Whisper Elves.

First GameStop sold out when they opened. I got there shortly after (was running really late this morning). Said they only got six in.

Went to the other GameStop - had several on the pegs. Got one and one of the $10 exclusive battle packs. They only let me have one Sidekick - said they were only with the purchase of battle packs. Wouldn't let me get a second Polar Whirlwind either.

I sent a lengthy email to Gamestops customer support about the sidekicks. I purchased three Polar Whirlwinds today so I should've got three sidekicks. We'll see what they tell me.

Ya out of 3 I went each tossed on swap force . One was like a robot script. The last one was a kind dude, told him I preordered at target cause I get 15% off and he was like that cool and we compared offers and started talking about games overall was nicest experience.

It sounded like Giants only...although Uncle Bob said it was Battle Packs. In any event, poorly orchestrated, communicated and probably did a lot to alienate a few customers who thought otherwise today, me included.

Well I dont know about anyone else but the "event" was rather lackluster in my neck of the woods (Laurel, MD). My primary Gamestop only got 4 Polar Whirlwinds in stock and NO sidekicks. Got the last Polar for them. Went to the other Gamestop down the road they only had 6 Polars that came in stock along with the SSA sidekicks. Got the LAST Polar from that store as well. The second store also allowed me to get a second sidekick with the receipt from the first store. No other new figures in stock at either store.

So two Polars along with a Whisper Elf and a Trigger Snappy.

Yep, I guarantee this will NOT end well for them. I know based on their wording someone could construe that as any "skylanders giants" toy or "skylanders" GIANTS. They should've probably said "Free sidekicks with any Skylanders Giants toy priced at 14.99.

First Gamestop had 5 or 6 total. Second had 3 when I got there, around 10:20.

The wording was bad. The guy tried saying you had to buy a giant. And then he said well, you had to spend 12.99 or more. Then he just gave me one, probably to quiet me. I bought 1 PW at the first gamestop.


This is in Roseville, CA.

I missed the "event" part (got the time wrong) but apparently it was pretty packed here, and this wasn't even a Skylanders heavy store. Ordered a Polar Whirlwind via their "order in store and get free shipping" deal, got Eye Brawl and Thumpback finally, and at $40 that earned me two sidekicks. All in all think I made out pretty well - gonna head to another Gamestop later and see if I can't get the Scorpion Striker pack while its still on sale, or maybe find Scarlet Ninjini somewhere.

I went and got a Polar Whirlwind. Only thing I needed there. They prolly started with 12 PW & 6 or so Ninjini. Only families this morning. No scalpers when I was there thankfully.

Only two PWs when I got there(No Ninjini,but I already have Scarlet) but I didn't grab one though,grabbed a LR and got a flier and Terrabite. Had to tell the cashier about the sidekick.

Re-capping my experience at the GameStop Skylanders "Festival" today:

I was one of two people "in line" at the door when the store opened.
The poster was free, but sucked.
The store had 6 Polar Whirlwind for sale.
They had no Ninjini available.
They did not have the Hot Dog/Zap Battle Pack available.
They would only offer you a Sidekick "for free" if you purchased a $14.99 Giant size character.

Overall, the store clerk seemed frazzled and under-prepared for the "event" and there was absolutely nothing really special or interesting going on at GameStop, other than Polar Whirlwind being available for the first half-dozen people to visit the store. The atmosphere was not festival-like ... at all. Very disappointing, overall, to be honest. Just seemed like a bunch of false advertising, misleading advertising, and empty hype.

Two thumbs down for GameStop. I hope Activision refused to give GameStop any exclusive variant characters for Swap Force.

^ I had a similar experience about the store clerk not being prepared for the event. They didn't even have Sidekicks to offer at mine.

I just got back and it wasn't much of an "event". There was a line, but not long at all. They had 12 Polar Whirlwinds, 7 regular Ninjini's, no Scarlets, and no Sidekicks =(.

I bought a 3DS Starter Pack, 2 Polar Whirlwinds, a Lightcore Chill, and a Lightcore Pop Fizz.

I wonder why they advertised Sidekicks when it sounds like very few GameStops even got them in =/.

The people who were waiting in line behind me were rude and cut in front of me, pretty much pushing me to the side, as I entered the store.

Overall, it wasn't a pleasant experience, but it was worth it for what I was able to purchase =).

Finally found a Gamestop with a Ninjini! No Scarlet, but given how she's going online I'll take what I can get. Hopefully they'll still have her in stock by the time I get there.

Honestly, this is about par for the course for Gamestop. I usually refuse to do any business with them other than two stores I will go to sometimes. However, they are way out of my way to do anything good with and will only visit if I have another reason to go in that area. GS customer service on a whole is lacking...... Not really from your average guy but from the Managers at the store level to the way they hyped this and we got nothing really more than Polar Whirlwind out of it. (Story of my life.... All Hype... No substance) Anyways, I Activision learns from this and will stop from doing anymore stuff with them. Congrats to everyone who got Polar Whirlwind today.

They had a Limit 1, but this guy infront was able to buy 5! There weren't any left. I went to this other Gamestop 5 minutes away, Was able to find Polar, Also found a regular Ninjini, Nice to see they're popping up again, and they would only let me get 1 sidekick, I told him the policy, I just went with Terrabite, which was horribly painted, called the last Gamestop I went before, They said I could bring my receipt and I was able to get the other Sidekick, and I chose Whisper Elf I also got one of the $2.99 Zelda Figurines in the green plastic balls, and I ended up getting Tetra x)

I encourage everyone to go to GameStop.com and click "Contact Us" and fill out the "Store support: Did not receive premium item" form.

The wording is clear on the site and the email that anyone who purchased ANY Slylanders Giants item should've received a sidekick. "Giants" is plural, meaning the title of the game not just a Giant character.
