So I get to winter tundra, go in a couple of portals, pick up a couple of orbs . . . and elora tells me i gotta collect 40 ORBS! I have 24. Something tells me I have a way to go. Can anyone help me out with picking up orbs from winter tundra portals? Thanks

dark didn't spend days making a GTG strategy guide for no reason. Just consult the guide to find all the orbs you need!

IGN has a GtG guide on the orbs. I thought you had them before, RWD! If you need help, use dark's guide or ask dark52, myself or anybody else who has 100%.

And as for the proper battle... I'll give you extra help (spoilers).

Okeee, we're in a circular arena with lava around the edge as usual and we've just annoyed the old fool Ripto and BAM (incase you are wondering, that's not Sgt. Byrd's 'Byrd Air Missiles')!!! He's mad. Spyro promises he'll stand still, and if you do that in the proper battle you are certainly not gonna get very far.

A slight difference from Crush 'n' Gulp: The Health Bar is vertical and not made of blocks. This is because there are three stages in this battle....

STAGE I - RIPTO

In this, Ripto is alone and fighting with his trusty sceptor. Dare you go into his sight or there's nothing to do he'll endure the time by blasting the famous two fireballs at you. You may flame or charge Ripto, no harm done, but he tricks you with this and blasts you there - where you can't escape. Hunter has those secret wings of his that appear again in YotD. Now he's flying around dropping orbs. Oooh, looky. Let's go on a collecting spree! Sorry, chap, they don't go towards your percentage. Pick up an orb of any colour and you'll get 1 for you. Pick up a second to get 2. Pick up a third and they'll be used in an attack depending on the colour of the last orb. If it may be red, you will get Superflame for 5 seconds. Blue and you'll get Supercharge. Green and you'll get some weird ball of gas I like to call 'Supertoxic'. Hit Ripto with any and he'll lose a tenth of his health bar. Take away 10 tenths and he's done. Ripto, unfortunately, hunts for orbs too. Red he gets to fire four firey shockwaves which you have to jump over. Blue and he chases you around with some harmful shield. Green and he'll do 3 twists of Gulp's bomb attack, thankfully less of them. He hits you four times your dead. You hit him ten times he's one third dead.

STAGE II - RIPTO + SUPERGULP

Ripto uses his sceptor to save himself, and then creates a big mechanical version of Gulp and gets a ride. He may still attack you with his two fire blasts, but that old SuperGulp is hungry... for orbs. It's the same. You get three orbs and you get Superflame, Supercharge or Supertoxic. However, SuperGulp has different tricks up his sleeves, erm, mouth. Red and he spits out a face made of fire that chases you around the arena. Charge around until its done. Blue and he lets out a shower of energy balls like that of Gulp's Overlook, only much, much more. Green and his eyes are two laser beam guns which create lasers for jumping over. Also note that whilst Ripto ran away when you got attacking, he fires alot of fire from SuperGulp. Also note to go for orbs Gulp is about to eat. And finally note to get orbs just before he attacks - There is a short delay of Ripto laughing before. Ten more hits.

STAGE III - RIPTO + ENERGY BIRD

SuperGulp explodes into five golden orbs. Ripto turns one into a giant bird with an engine. He fires a Superflame shot at the arena and three of the orbs blow holes in the arena and starts sinking. Spyro takes quick action and grabs the last orb to get the great Superfly + Superflame powerup. It's now battle of the skies. In this, Ripto is down to his very last hit of his life. His Energy Bird protects it, though, and what do we do with things hanging in the air? Pin them down! Yes, firey death lurks below, so I shan't explore there, if I were you. Superflame. Yep. Win the game with Superflame. Whilst you get ten good shots, Ripto will get umpteen good shots with a green energy ball that twists back at you from behind. With this, move aside and once it has passed, go down a bit. That way it'll dodge. If you're lucky, it'll hit the bird! Unfortunately, the bird uses a speed boost when you get a good line for shot at it, so forget all accurate aiming and range. Just fire far and in the birds path and it'll clash with your shot! After 8 - 10 hits, the bird goes down and Ripto quickly reaches for his sceptor and... oh, dear. He must've dropped it into the lava while laughing. Too bad, he can't save himself now. Endure the short moment will he sizzles.
