I wondered that myself. I thought they were as low as $6.99 at the store. Did they raise the price to make it look like a good deal with the
BOGO $.99. |

Yeah the 4.99 sale was still technically better. Add in their over the top shipping and I'm not impressed.

I may wait. Last year, when Giants came out, they had a buy one SSA (for like 8 or 9 $) get one completely free. That's how I got my S1 Bash and Eruptor.

They were having a deal with Giants figures too, although a bit more money to be spent. Buy one SG figure for 11 bucks, get another for 3 bucks.

So average $7 each. Not exactly a great deal, when they end up being $5 or so later this year. To previous poster: TRU sales run weekly so they usually end Sat night.

Even though not a great deal for you guys, we Canadians will take that deal no problem since we don't get any deals like that.

If my TRU ever had decent SSA figures. They have probably 30-40 pegs full of the same few that they've had for months. I was told by a TRU employee a few weeks ago that you can order online in the store and they give you free shipping. Since there really isn't much online, I thought about picking up a couple of Legendary Trigger Happys and possibly a couple of Legendary Stealth Elfs and selling the 2nd one to balance out the cost.

If your ordering online to get ssa that arent in your store, just order a total of $79 to get free shipping then return the extra item. Its a slight pain in the ass if you live near a TRu if not then its prob a waste of time/gas.

It gets you over the minimum amount for a free shipment. So you get what you want, and extra to get yourself to that dollar amount.
Then return what you don't need. I've never done that but it would work.

But that means spending the $79+. When you don't have that much money to spare, that's a bit difficult. If it's true that I can order online in the store, I would much rather do that. I don't have to spend the extra money up front (which in this case would be $60+ extra) nor have to deal with the hassle of returning items (which is a lot more hassle than having a store clerk order something for me online). Since my TRU is about a half mile from my house, I can easily go there to order. I'm pretty sure the clerk told me that it even ships to your house. |

Well since i tend to visit tru at least once a week while im on break (its one of the closest places with bathrooms while i'm out on the road for my job), its easy for me to walk in and return. Around the time i tend to go there no one there or like one person in front of me so it aint so bad. This aint something i do like every day. I think this year ive done it 4 times and each time i did it i knew id be in the TRu looking for skylanders or 20th anniversary power ranger items.
As for the money, they charge you the day it ships you get it like 5 days later and return it and it goes back on your card in like 3-days. Only reason i bother is i know im going to the local store anyways so its not a waste for me. I also usually use a credit card I know i'll have the time to recollect my funds on before the statement closes. Also to those that may say "why not just buy them in store", my stores around me markup everything $3-$10 more then online. singles in one store are 11.99, light cores are 13.99 and giants are $18.49. It gets worse as the price goes up. Like a power ranger megazord is $10 more then walmart, target and toysrus out east. So for me the savings add up, but shipping cut into it so i avoid it |
