I cannot believe that it already been a whole year since I started collecting skylanders, this time last year I had 5, Dark Spyro, Stealth Elf, Ignitor, Bash, and Drobot, and has grown close to 85 not counting the magic items and all the other non playable stuff. Just wow, it went so quick! I never thought I would be hooked like I am now, so it's my Skylander Anniversary Day! When is yours?

I know right? I didn't get wham shell until summer was over, literally the day before I started 10th grade, those were the days, just going out on a hunt not knowing what u would find (unless you called first like I did sometimes), mom always said I was good at relentlessly pursuing my prey, they prey of coarse, being skylanders ;p

October 20th will be my 2 year anniversary, as I got a House Party pack the day before SSA released.

By now, I had finished S:SA, with the only variant missing, Clear Stealth Elf, to be found before Christmas.

I remember thinking how much I thought I would like this series but didn't want to put up the cash as I knew it would be expensive. Blockbuster was doing a B1G1 free sale around Thanksgiving, and I cleaned them out. I bought $320 worth of games and traded them to GameStop for over $700. I told myself that rather than hoard the credit and wait for used games sales I would jump on the Skylanders bandwagon and just ignore the prices. I ended up getting every figure at GS besides Whirlwind, Drill Sergeant, and the Legendary Figures. I ended up selling the reposed 24 figures on eBay after deciding to take the series 2 plunge, and got $125 for those. I have actually done very well with Skylanders, as I know lots of people who have easily put in $1000+, and I have only put in around $300. To me a complete collection is having at least 1 version of each character.

I only kept the variant versions of Flashwing, Whirlwind, Hot Dog, Tree Rex, Ninjini, Crusher, Bouncer, Slam Bam, Ignitor, and Stealth Elf. This means very few duplicates. I only have duplicates of the 5 series 1 variants, the 4 SSA that got lightcores (except for S2 Drobot, and LC Hex), and I have 2 Jet Vacs (LC and Legendary), and 2 Pop Fizzes (LC and Punch). I sold off all extras, and characters I was forced into buying that I didn't want to keep. It really keeps the cost down and in the end I can get full enjoyment out the games and won't have a bunch of toys that years from now will be in some tote in an attic.

Swap Force scares me a bit as I have gotten away with, or at the very least, mitigated the cost of characters to where I have only purchased around 25 characters for Giants. I will be buying a minimum of 32 for Swap Force and until we hear more, I am not sure how much mitigating I will be able to do on series 2/3 figures.

I remember calling Walmart once, nobody there even spoke English I remember one time I called target and asked if they had eye brawl an they said "You're looking for eye brows?" I then asked for someone with basic listening skills
