Just noticed on gamestop that Swap force will be available for both the PS4 and Xbox one. Over the weekend I reserved it for my 360 now since its available for both new systems looks like ill be going to get it for the PS4 since MS decided that used games will be useless for the Xbox one.

I don't plan on it at this time, but why do you say it is a waste of $$$ and a world of hurt?

I guess you don't have any video game consoles at home, waste of money right?

We're probably going to get it for the Xbox One (already have it pre-ordered and paid for). I was debating getting a 3DS starter too for the characters but I can honestly say this dragged out finale to the characters has turned me off a great deal.

The PS4/XBone circlejerk has reached intolerable levels already. I can't even bear to read about the new consoles now much less forums discussing them.

I figure I'll get it for the Wii U as that's what we play it on now.

I made the mistake of getting an early xbox 360. It works, but it's loud, didn't include Wireless, storage was low. The first version of hardware is usually not the best. There will be issues with the X1 and PS4, that's just how it goes. See above mention of the Wii U.

I can live with the console(s) I have now and will hold off of the new ones for a while.

Skylanders is FUN. That's not a waste.

Sony make some of the most unreliable electronics in the world these days combined with terrible pricing and evil business practices.
They KNOW they are so bad they put into the ToS that you are not allowed to sue them.
Customers of the PS3 were liberally buggered by Sony, I know as I was one of them. Long story, but Sony are evil.

MS Don't even want you to be able to play second hand games, or lend them. Oh and you need 24/7 internet access or the new xbox STOPS WORKING so you can't play your games.
I feel that both MS and Sony spent several months trying to find which features would be the least useful and most hated so they could implement them.

Oh, just what the customers want, more DRM restriction and less flexibility! Better charge more for that!

Get a Wii U, It's not doing so well right now and Nintendo could do with the boost for trying to innovate instead of shafting customers.
Oh, and there are some damn good games coming out for it over the next year.

Im gettn a ps4 first day. Still have my launch day ps3. I didnt care about the loss of other OS. I take it that is the shaft of which you speak. It was gimped to begin with, not being able to access the 3d acceleration/gpu. I like sonys exclusives too much I guess. Ill be getting swap force foreither wii or 360 as those are the systems my son plays on.

Besides the exclusives, Destiny looks awesome, elder scrolls online, new MGS.
Looking foward to more than 4 person co-op.

And as much as I dont like DRM, what am I gonna do? Switch to PC? The new console DRM is based on pc DRM thats been around for 15 years.
I dont trade in and rarely buy used, the only reason I care at all is its effect on small game buisness like my friends.
Developers can whine all they want about losing out on second hand sales, but until they give the retailers a better cut of first hand sales, second hand is all that keeps small game stores in buisness.

And sorry but nintendo has shiwn time and again that they only cater to children, which is fine. But I have no interest in childrens games

So, Bayonetta 2 (which is funded directly by Nintendo, and why it is not going multi-console) is a children's game? How about ZombieU? Assasin's Creed 3? Batman Arkham City? Yeah they do aim at family friendly for their core franchises, but those are fun and can be enjoyed by people from 3 to 103. They do have many "adult games" but personally I could care less about yet more brown, blood splattered testosterone fests that litter the headlines of the other consoles. I simply do not understand why people use this argument as a critique of Nintendo, especially since they haven't actively censored 3rd party games since the early SNES days.

If you are ashamed to admit you enjoy playing Mario games to your friends, maybe you should worry more about your self esteem than how much blood a video game splatters on the screen.

Oh, and Skylanders is a children's game.

Bayonetta didnt interest me, so the sequel less so. ZombieU can join the corral of other zombie games that have worn the genre out. (though I am getting The Last of Us) I already played batman and ac3, because yknow they were out on consoles for quite a long time before they came out on wiiU.

Nintendo franchises have lost their magic with me. Eventually sonys exclusives will too.
Its part of having the same characters and gimmicks for 25 years.

And while they dont censor 3rd party content(not that I know if they do or not) they dont get much 3rd party support to censor anyway. 1st party is where its at when it comes to consoles, and nintendos 1st party fair is what is. The same old same old.
Its not just nintendo, im sure Ill get sick of god of war 5, uncharted 5, killzone 5, etc....

But sony also has titles like Gran Turismo, Heavy Rain, Ni No Kuni, along with the multiplatform 3rd party stuff that never or rarely comes nintys way.

I know skylanders is a childrens game. Thats why my 7 yr old likes it so much. My connection to it is half parent half ocd collector. My son must have them all! Lol

And If I were ashamed to admit gaming to my friends, it would be gaming in general.

Nintendo had a good run with me. They got me between 13-20 something. NES through 64.
Those princess need to get some protection or panic rooms. I got tired of saving them.

And people use that argument to critique Ninty, because for the last few generations, they have given less support to 3rd party publishers, and dont supply the power most 3rd party devs want to use and make games for.

xBox 360 games won't be playable on the xBox one? You don't say? Sounds like Microsoft is following Activision's lead, and taking it a step further.

Glad we have a Wii. We can play GameCube games on the Wii, and Wii games on the WiiU. As long as they keep treating the customer with respect like this, we will continue to be loyal customers.

I love Mario and Nintendo franchise games. Been there with them since the original NES, and put down many quarters in Donkey Kong and other arcade classics. Mario Galaxy / 2 has sucked many hours from me.

But I also like survival horror and have been with Resident Evil. So it runs the gambit. But no shooters...to me they are as boring as racing games.

[I sense a comment that RE is a shooter in 5...4....3....2...]

RE is a survival/horror with a shooter style for combat. I see it not as a shooter type such as CoD (crap game), or anything like that, but more of an RPG of sorts that has guns as the weapon used.

(I hate shooter games too)

Mario games are fantastic, I can see getting a bit bored by them though. I definitely have reached that point with the regular Zelda games. I'm glad they are at least for a while going back to the fun, cartoon look with the Wind Waker remake (awesome game, even better that they are adding a couple more dungeons and working on the travel - the only weaknesses) and the Link to the Past sequel. I don't like the way so many people want Zelda to go hyper realistic, it's like they know they want to play Zelda, but are ashamed about it unless it is realistic with blood and guts. Forget that, I'm not 12 anymore or have the need to impress my friends with my hobbies. I choose hobbies based on what I like.

Yes, the core Nintendo games are family friendly. I like that. I can get a WiiU and know that there will be plenty of great games I can let my kids play without worrying as a parent. My sons were THRILLED with Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8. And I know they will be fun games I can enjoy with them.

But, just because you don't like the more adult games available (or coming soon) on WiiU, doesn't mean they don't exist. Third party support could be better, but it is a heck of alot better now than it was in the 64 days. There are more mature games available soon, with X and a few others shown. Right now, if I were to choose from the games at E3 that I want to play, the overwhelming choice to me is the WiiU. The new systems did not have a single game that I believe is compelling enough to buy a new system (especially at those prices). I'm sure that will change, but for now it's basically the same FPS, driving games and gritty action. I've enjoyed the God of War and Gears of War games in the past, but the most recent games were very "meh". Those franchises went stale by the fourth games. Realistic stubble on Kratos' face isn't going to change that. Mario games are still fun after how many games?

I love how there is this "It didn't hurt me so I don't care" attitude to the things Sony did.
What this does is give them the ability to keep on screwing their customers until it DOES hurt you, but by then it's too late to stand up to it because everybody else has already been screwed and doesn't care about you any more than you did them.
I wasn't referring to Other OS specifically but it's a great example.
When Sony are allowed to remove features that I bought on my console with impunity, that is the point I stop buying their consoles.
What are they going to take away next? Oh that's right, I can't play ANY NEW GAMES AT ALL because by not agreeing to their stupid new ToS I am not allowed to firmware update.
So Sony have taken away my ability to play games on a games machine because I won't agree not to sue them and to let their PS3 spy on my home network (it does, it's true, don't argue).
I don't remember any of this being mentioned when I bought the console years ago?

You don't care about the new DRM because PCs have had it for years? Not like this they haven't.
I bet you will care the first time a game YOU are playing stops working because Sony made a mistake, or a server is offline to authenticate you, or your internet connection is down etc.
Don't say it won't happen because it will. Even Kindle owners have found purchased books disapear right in front of their eyes.
There are people with huge music collections they can't play because the DRM Service they bought into went bust.

DRM is bad in all forms and should be stamped out right NOW.

You can pull the "It doesn't hurt me" card all you want because quite frankly, while all your rights are getting taken away by apathy you are simply setting yourself up for a big fall in the future.

Getting back to the game, I will def be getting it for 360.

I can't wait to play it. Looking to get a WiiU Christmass but don't want to wait for the game that long smilie

Not sure if the WiiU version will be much different to the 360 version anyway.
