If you have White, then yes get White 2. It's a sequel game, not a "third game" as Platinum was to Diamond/Pearl. Black 2/White 2 kinda have their own story and even 3 different gyms. It takes place 2 years after Black/White. I have Black and Black 2 and frankly like Black 2 better.

If you have 2 DSes (DSs, DSses...??) then you cna use Memory Link to sync your White to your White 2. This'll let you have special flashback cutscenes in White2 as well as make it so whenever NPCs talk about the trainer from before (playable trainer from Black/White) they'll say the name of your trainer from White.

Even I admit that Black 2 and White 2 are way better than their predecessors and are definitely worth playing. smilie

It is SO worth it! First game I've actually felt close to my Pokemon since LG, and I'm actually still playing it after beating the champion and such! WOO!
White sucked, White 2, however, is so much better.
