Err, not sure how to respond to that. I will say that I think Ember has gotten a very bad reputation with the fanbase unless she's getting shipped with Flame. She's either portrayed as a clingy, prissy, stuck-up bully or the more aggressive *cough* yuri partner of Cynder. <.<;

I haven't forgotten about BanditXEmber.

If you look at it the right way, Cynder kind of is an Ember clone. Well, maybe "clone" is the wrong word, but she most likely wouldn't exist without Ember. They have similar body shapes when both are little (round, small feet, big cute faces, tiny mouths), both wear noticeable jewelry, and they have similar eye colors (I think Ember is blue-eyed, but both of them have pastel colors). Cynder is basically a really obvious Ember reverse: where Ember is cute, pink, the village darling and generally sweet, Cynder is sinister, black, an outcast among everyone, and pretty abrasive in personality.

This kind of touches on my idea that LoS is AHT (more specifically, it's Shadow Legacy) with all the fun and whimsy sucked out (this theory is fully supported by the same writing/producing team, Chris Wilson and Mike Graham, having worked on both SL and LOS).

To address what appears to be the actual topic: yeah, Ember came first before Cynder. But you know who came before that? ELORA. :D And she actually kissed Spyro (to date, the only female in the entire franchise to do so). :D

Bandit x Ember > Flame x Ember

Though Ember x Cynder is cute. A threesome between Elora, Ember, and Cynder would be hilarious. *shot*

And Cynder is indeed somewhat of a clone of Ember, with the body shape and all, just like what Razz said. But her personality is way different.
