Ants are highly territorial. Sometimes it doesn't matter if you disturb them or not.

i remember when i was really young
i was bit by a red ant
and i thought it was poisonous
and then for so many days I was just all gloomy and terrified my parents because i said things like "it's okay if getting pen on me was poisonous i'm already poisoned anyways" "i'm gonna die soon" and would chew on pens and try to eat ink
