Ok, I am doing Cynder's life from her point of view.

Her egg jostled restlessly, it was being carried by uncaring hands. She was thrown on to the wall of the egg. Suddenly the moving stopped. She had been put down. No light shone through the opaque walls of the egg. She must be in a room. She relaxed, relived that the moving had stopped. Then she felt an urge to crack the walls of her egg and breathe in the first air. The egg had become a prison from a shield in seconds. She kicked her leg. A small crack appeared. Then she kicked again. A hole opened and a part of the shell fell away. She poked her head through breathed in the fist breath of air she experienced. The air was stale. The egg was picked up by large, fleshy hands that smelt like rotting plants. He first lesson was that Gaul wasn’t always patient. He grabbed her and pulled her out of the crack. She squealed. She didn’t like him.
“Good. I will have her darkness touched as soon as possible.”

Five years on and she was near her first stage in growing. She would be darkness touched that very day. She was tall and strong, yet she had no darkness in her heart yet. She didn’t see why her master wanted to kill the purple dragon. He hadn’t hurt them. When she asked Gaul about this he said that He hadn’t hurt, not yet so they should kill him while he doesn’t know what he is. She started to get protective over the purple dragon. Gaul called her into the main room of the fortress in concurrent skies. He had a long wooden stick with some black goop that was steaming on the end. She backed off.
“Come forward, Slave.” He told her. She shook her head.
“That was an ORDER!!” She walked forward timidly. Gaul whacked her on the forehead with the stick. The black goop seeped on to her nose. It soon covered her whole body and she felt herself losing control. She grew and grew and got stronger and stronger until she was a beast. Full grown and full strength in less than a minute. The goop seeped off and returned to being on the stick.
“Yes Master.”
