Lots of people have LC Pop Fizz in the US now, mine arrived a few days ago. Nothing prevents a person from throwing it up for resale on Amazon Marketplace for a hefty premium, sadly. The shipping charge is minimal (it was about 3 Euro, or about $4 US) and doesn't seem to go up when you order multiple figures since they don't weigh much, and only takes about a week to get it assuming no customs holdups. That guy probably ordered a bunch and is making about $25 each profit off of them. The image shown is a stock image, I would be certain that if he put up an image it would show the European peg hook. Scarlet Ninjini and Polar Whirlwind are also on the Amazon Marketplace from resellers, though at least those sellers have them up as "used". |

Really guys Stop Stop You're becoming impatient for LightCores. LIGHTCORES. The gimmick of the franchise that almost nobody likes. Of characters that have SUPERIOR, LESS EXPENSIVE FIGURES ALREADY. As an owner of the LightCores I assure you that the effect on them sucks as usual anyway. |

Lightcores aren't such a bad gimmick on series 1 figures (i.e. Chill, Pop Fizz, Shroom Boom and Jet-Vac) but for the figures that were already out in Spyro's Adventure, they are pathetic.

I think you mean Series 2 Light Core |

#9 Posted: 09:31:04 05/05/2013
Not exactly... My understanding is Series 1 usually means the first run of figures, the ones for SSA, and Series 2 are the ones re-released for Giants. Some people also extend "Series 1" as meaning the first run figures for Giants, because it's also their first run. I prefer "newlanders", for the clarity (though I'm still not sure if that term is supposed to include giants like Tree Rex and such or not, LOL!)
And personally, I find the Lightcore is a fail. I think "nobody likes" is a little strong, just that it's a gimmick that has COMPLETELY dried up as a selling point, partially because of all the lightcore effects which were a let down, the top two examples being Hot Head and Drobot. I also want to throw Chill in there, only the bottom of her javelin lights up, the effect looks like the light from the portal is just bleeding up. If Chill is "on" but the portal light is off, then it looks like the light is in the base, and again is only bleeding up. It should be the whole javelin (I've read about people who modified her to make this happen, so I know it's possible). In the end, I think everybody just feels like this had more potential, and in many figures it was a let down. I actually saw a video and read an article introducing the concept of Giants at a toy fair last year - I would guess E3 - and they referred to Lightcore as this fantastic, amazing, mind-blowing concept, and that everybody would be fanatic to get them. I just laughed.

No, I don't. "Series 2" implies the second in line of a figure, not figures for the second game. It's really not rocket science. |

Series 1 = Green base Series 2 = Orange base Series 3 (Swap Force) = Blue base We will agree to disagree until Swap Force is out. That should put this to rest. |

That's how I used to refer to it too, I even had it in my signature as "Series 1" and "Series 2" at one point. But I saw TOO many people using the terms differently, I think I've even seen people define it. The definition that seems to mostly be in use is that Series 1 is when the character was introduced. So SSA (Green base) figures and newlanders. I've seen comments like "I wonder if there will be a S2 Fright Rider coming out with Swap Force", that kind of thing. To be honest, what you said makes more sense to me and the way it should be, and CLEARER. But if more people use it the other way, that's the way it is. It's not like we have a dictionary of definitions, as a community we're developing these terms ourselves. And one vote for the definition I put forward: It seems weird to put a "2" on characters who just came out. It's like "Series 2" means "Version 2", you know? How could the first Shroomboom be a Version 2? This is why I think Dark Spyro should have a help page with a Glossary/Dictionary, and include terms such as Series 1, Series 2, SSA, SG, newlanders (I think I've heard exlanders for the 8 who weren't reposed), using L as a prefix, using LC as a prefix, etc. etc. I keep playing around with trying to collect all the terms I can think of and put them in a Glossary discussion thread.

^ I know the terms are "Series 1" and "Series 2" but I prefer to think of it as "Season 1" and Season 2". For me that makes it easier. Instead of arguing about rather a newlander from Giants is a series 1 or 2 or 3 (if reposed for swapforce that is) I can just say "popfizz is a season 2 character and that fright rider over there is season 3".

One of the Swap force screenshots and/or videos showed one of the new SF Skylanders being placed on the portal. Below its name, it clearly said Series 1. While that's not exactly official and still subject to change, it does seem to pretty strongly back the idea that a Series 1 figure is just the first release for that character, regardless of which game it was tied to and what color base it has. Series 2 would then be the second figure for a character, series 3 the third, etc.
Personally, I find that terminology to be the most sensical because that way the terms are tied to the functional differences. All Series 1 figures can only choose one path and have no Wow-Pow. All Series 2 figures can change paths at any time and have a Wow-Pow. All Series 3 figures apparently have two Wow-Pows, and possibly some other perks. Those are the things that really matter for comparing different characters. |

Ok on the series and lightcore notes, I only have 1 lightcore, and its of drobot. Is it normal that the screen says he's lightcore series 1 drobot?

Not sure that is an error. I think I remember reading before that the names show up a bit differently sometimes on the Wii version compared to the PS360 versions. I can't remember for sure, but I think it was that the SSA legendary characters would show up as something like Legendary Series 1 Spyro on the Wii, but just Legendary Spyro on PS360. Could be the same thing here. What version are you playing?

SSA didn't know anything about lightcore labeling, so he must be playing giants. Bizarre if it actually shows that.

Once Swap Force comes out, this will surley be put to rest. Since we know that Stealth Elf is reposed in SF, she will be Series 3. I am sure there will be a repose of one of the newlanders in Giants (i.e. ShroomBoom, Sprocket, etc), lets just see how Activision Labels them. They will surley have a Series 2 or 3 on the package and that is what we will have to accept. I personally think it should be base on the color of the base, this would make it easier to identify than to have a Blue base Stealth Elf labeled as Series 3 and then have a Blue base Sproket labeled as Series 2. Activision if you are reading this, can you clue us in?
Thank You |
