Do Skylanders retain their level and upgrades from console to 3ds version? [CLOSED]

I play Skylanders on the console and all my figures are fully upgraded and Level 15 in SG console version . I know for console to console, they retain their level and upgrades. I plan on getting a 3DS in October because of Pokemon X and Y. I want to pick up SSA and SG for the 3ds as well. So will my level progress and upgrades retain in the 3DS version? Or will they be back at level 1 because console and handheld are different?

Same toys used on Consoles and 3DS = Keeping the same data (level, upgrades, etc.) when going from one to another. =)
