I almost have enough gems to buy Ninjini's house...it seems like it has a pretty good return on investment. But the shrines seem to offer some decent perks, too; and they pay out hourly, while the houses take six hours. Hmmm....

For those of you who already have them, which offers the best return for shelling out 300+ gems?

I got ninjini's house and I like that so far. I do not have a shine but I am almost at enough gems to get one!

I'd say get Ninjini's House first since it's only available for a limited time. I don't have hard numbers but I'd say that their payouts are pretty similar when compared over time.

Giant Houses you can collect from 3-4 times a day every day of the week. The payout is random but gold payouts are around 20k and energy payouts are around 5k-6k. The Giant Houses can also produce gems and Kingdom XP. The 6h collection time is a plus as well.

Elemental Shrines can give you 24k gold a day IF you collect every hour. On days that they match the Element of the Day they give a decent bonus to matching crops and Skylanders but you have to collect those as well. Also you can only count on this additional bonus being active approximately once every 8 days or so.

...but now that I've typed that out all my sleep deprived ramblings, I guess I lean more towards buying the Giant Houses first but after that the Shrines aren't a bad investment.

I'd go house first. Get stuff out of a giant for no energy, and I think it gives them XP to level up as well. It's like a medium level mission for free without using up a balloon.

No, you can only use the specific giant with their house. But it's still not a bad idea to get the houses when you can because you don't know when they'll come back and theoretically you'll get the giant eventually.

The shrines go on sale for 50% off from time to time, right? I can't remember seeing the giant's houses except for the Memorial Day sale, has anyone else bought them half off? For 150 a shrine seems like a lot better deal than 350 for a giant house. I'm almost to level 35 where gold and XP won't matter much again until they raise the level cap, so getting random stuff out of the wishing well seems more fun.
