Here's a preorder similar to the amazon.de launch of scarlet straight from amazon.it

Seems legit like the other one and I just tried preordering the same way, offers a few options for speed from amazon and can be shipped globally. The site says they'll get them in on the 26th. This will probably be the cheapest and easiest way to get polar without hunting a store.

That depends on the methods you used for shipping as mine didn't convert automatically for the currency (which from amazon's statement that preorders tend not to use the converter) and I preordered 2 of them and it came to 27 something in euro which might be around 35 USA for them.

I got standard shipping and preordered 2 if that helps.

I'm getting 2 for that price, that's still if you factor in close to retail if you slice it whichever way. You should probably ask the others who were getting it from Shop-It on ebay for 30+ for 1 After you factor in the shipping. For some this is a better deal right now in its mostly the shipping in what gets you since how far away it is? The more I thought about it too it's also the fact of it being from italy is what intrigues me. I already have scarlet from germany and by the time these arrive, we may or may not see polar out yet. My delivery is expected to be before the US release of Scarlet. If polar doesn't release here in the US this week in coming out, I'd rather have this one for the moment. I don't have to keep calling stores or go all around just to find them.

The price is about 9.99 Euro each which is a little more than the regular price of the figure in USD. The shipping ran around 11 Euro total so that's where it all factors in.

I was going to pass then I saw LC Popfizz and LC Chill and could not resist. I feel sorry for those buying these things in EU they seem a lot more expensive over there than over here.

Buying all 3 of those is 57.43 US Dollar. Just too much over US retail price for me to pull the trigger.

Although I can understand people wanting to get Polar Whirlwind ASAP, it is a little irrational to believe that Italy will get distributions of both Polar Whirlwind and Jade Flashwing but the USA wouldn't.

The EU regions got GITD Fright Rider and the US didn't. Who knows what's going on with Activisions distribution division.

You're welcome. I thought to clean it up a bit to make it easier for others to see the info. The US will probably get polar soon, but for those that like getting scarlet wanted an easier way that is more sound than hunting, this is it. There probably won't be another easy way until her US release and if then you might be forced to store hunt.

True, however, GITD Fright Rider is just a glowing version of the normal Fright Rider. Polar Whirlwind is an actual different in-game character (compared to normal Whirlwind). That's a big difference, and I think too easily overlooked when people quote the GITD Fright Rider example as a reason to be nervous about future domestic availability of a variant.

Polar Whirlwind isn't a chase variant.

Whatever it's called, I am still not paying that much for a figure.

I've been looking on ebay everywhere for a decently priced polar.

I share this sentiment to an extent. I have to get a total of 5 polars for that many people that play the game family and friend wise so you can see that can get pricey already. The point is if I can get a few "now" and its a proven service to be reliable. (My german scarlet ninjini) Then why wouldn't I try this and give them a bit extra to get it? Depending on what retailers do get her that extra shipping might be a drop in the bucket if you factor in the time and money it will cost you in going location to location, especially if the retailer she could end up being at turns out to be too far and you have to online shop anyway for her.

For this time aside from the brief appearance of a TRU express, anything legendary and exclusive to TRU I had to buy online and to which made the figures cost more due to shipping. The others I can easily get in the stores via sales, etc because except for that store the others are close and in range to be checked frequently.

If you feel you will be able to get her in store, no pressure from the demand, remember how the others on coming out if you think polar will sell on this amazon for 10 bucks you'll have to be joking. (Unless they get a preorder and then get ready to do a mad rush at finishing your order before someone else and losing her)

The scalpers will put her up for 40+ when she makes it here because any newer figure always has a high price and with her possibly being the last variant expect it. There would have to be a ton of polars released at once, but you know those that find her she's going to carry a high value no matter who gets her. If you do get her then its more rewarding on the patience and I hope you do. Hopefully we'll all be able to help each other out in seeing the US release too. I just put the links up to help those that like atleast for one, can get her at a reasonable price. She is still reasonable here even if it might seem more per figure.

I hope I can find the other 3 in store, but it makes it easier on my end to be able to get 2 out of the way for a slightly higher price. She's going to be there in 5 days for purchase without pre order by anyone on that site. I just hope those that are refraining later on don't kick themselves after the fact they have to hunt and come up empty handed. There were some that did when amazon.de ran out of scarlet.

Are Skylanders Giants: LightCore Chill and LightCore Pop Fizz rare?

You ever think that GiTD Fright Rider still has a chance to be released in the U.S.? I do, I got my polar when she was first released in Germany for $22 USD, the seller had 40 of them, when he got down to his last ten, the price went up dramatically.

Some like myself, may not have the time or resources to go hunting everyday in retail stores, or the distance is incredibly far, or the store just plain sucks and has very few figures or is still selling wave 2 and 3. Online purchasing in certain cases may be the better option. Quite a few good points mentioned in this thread.

If I didn't have Polar already I wouldn't hesitate to jump on this one. But seeing how it is, I still want a U.S. packaged Polar, for the packaging and to open the Euro polar.

Looking at the recent history with Ninjini, Scarlini and Jadewing, I do not think this is a terrible option, a little pricey but not redunkulous. If ones chances are high at getting Polarwind then by all means pass, otherwise take a chance or test your luck. It's really up in the air right now, we don't know when she's coming out and who she will be coming to.

What if they pull a magic trick and release her on a weekday like Ninjini? What if they don't limit the amount a consumer can purchase and employees and scalpers snag them all? What are the online prices going to look like? What if she sells out on Amazon.it? What is the difference if one got her today, or next month? I always expect the worst and hope for the best in any situation, this being one of them along with the others that have yet to be released.

In all honesty LC Chill and LC Pop Fizz have yet to be released in the U.S., I wouldn't say rare in other countries, but rare in the U.S. yes, seeing how not a single retailer is shipping them out yet. This is based off my Pre-order with TRU, arrrrrrgggh.

This where I have been thinking and maybe some have as well. Until there's actual evidence online or a weekly ad showing her, there's what has been for nearly two months pure speculation on her when and where. If you have been hunting skylanders since the beginning for giants or even from SSA you don't pass up several opportunities and learn to get something when you can and try to play it safe. You're going to take a few hits or misses depending who you are searching for. Its all part of the hunt and the variants are more of an expert level of game compared to the regular stock due to their lower encounter rate and prolonged hunting/frequenting stores. You might hit big and find them at retail, as others could in fact liquidate the shelves even before you get a chance to see her.

I would speculate the fact so many are getting riled up from the facebook page...she's going to go for a pretty penny well into swap force if you don't get her at retail,online, etc for normal price. For all we know she could release this week and in that case many of us will probably (myself included) cancel orders if she can be obviously obtained in that frame without relying on the preorder. It does however give an opportunity for a back up option, and collecting these things, those chances are too far in between to see.

Just remember, there WERE plenty of documented problems with the service from Amazon.de (Germany) regarding the Scarlet Ninjini sales. Just because you didn't personally experience any issues, that doesn't make it a "proven reliable service".

I'm not saying I would be afraid of Amazon.it (Italy), but I DO think it's reasonable for US buyers to be hesitant about ordering Polar Whirlwind this way.
Remember what I learned during my customer service issues with Amazon.de ... the USA version of Amazon (Amazon.com) will NOT support its international affiliates. Given that, there's really no reason to believe that the service from Italy's Amazon has ANY connection to the Germany Amazon site/business. Basically, these "Amazons" operate independently from one another. Yes, they share a logo/brand, and they share a similar website format/layout ... but that's really about it. One can not extrapolate past experiences from one Amazon business/service/experience to the Amazon business/service/experience to another country's Amazon site.

I ordered two, came to around $40 Canadian with shipping.

Worth it IMO.

I do recall that a bit and that was what made me hesitate in buying my first two scarlet ninjinis before just when the pre order ended because of your frustration. I wasn't sure from the thread but did she actually come? Mine made it the actual ten business days so it seemed mine worked out well. (I only got 1 then, tried to get two but I must have been fighting with someone on the order as it kept pulling it out of my cart, but I was finally able to get it there, paid for and shipped.) Ordering internationally can be like a crap shoot if it works or doesn't work. Any online retailer or getting things in from online though will have this risk, it's just more uncertainty the farther unknown distance. Amazon from my experience had one blemish on the regular .com one but they replaced what was supposed to be sent free of charge and has really come a long way for customer service. This order I found had three options for shipping as far as from standard but two amazon quicker global types (If you have amazon prime you can get your polars in TWO days for practically nothing in shipping. There's a good chance they'll track the prime orders.)

I have two preordered from two seperate orders that would make him half price if they ever get him in. My preorders are already a month old. TRU will get him in just be patient as it's probably a week or so left for the US...hoping there.

Amazon service wasn't the problem, Customs and International shipping were for some people. And everyone that had those issues I heard Amazon made good on the full refunds. And some of those people still got their figures with the refund - it was simply held up by shipping. It sucks, but they are limited by the options available, and International shipping can be stupid expensive, which has to be considered. You can thank people that send illegal stuff for Customs making a random unlucky spot check on your shipment.

I'd say it is a proven reliable service. You will more than likely get your figure, although it may take some time, or they will refund your money at their own loss. Worst case you end up exactly where you are now, without the figure.

I ordered 2 from italy. I know it prob will come out here soon, but i figure let me at least cover myself by getting myself and the kid one. When they do come here i just need to find 3 more for wife, bro and my sealed one.

We have already received news about Scarlet's release in the US next month so it only seems logical that Polar will soon follow so for me it is a no-brainer to just wait it out. Yes I do know that Activision isn't the most logical company but still I have faith.

I have faith too, just i'm starting a 2nd job soon and the wife is going back to work finally. So its more a matter of time to look for them.

Lesty was the source. It's more "insider information" than an actual "announcement".

I'm taking Lesty's "information" with a grain of salt... I've been reading the thread he said it in (or A thread), but I forget the exact topic. Might have been the one about receiving Scarlet Ninjini from Germany. When I asked for any kind of backup, he completely ignored me, until I pointed out that ignoring the question seemed suspicious, at which point he only said something like "You'll see who's right when the time comes" or something and still neglected to offer anything more. This, with the fact that his info makes no sense, that Scarlet will be the first variant that isn't exclusive to anybody or any bundle, makes it sound inaccurate. Also he didn't give the information normally, just out of the blue "Try your luck at Target on Blah", like everybody knew that was the date (I don't remember the right date). He also mentioned in a post or two that all stores will be having her.

It's a shame that there's free shipping over a certain amount (assuming I could have gotten it in Canada). I ordered Polar and Lightcore Pop Fizz, twice each so I have one and have one for my nephews' birthday, which is the following weekend after the two release dates. The timing is so tight I actually sprung for the fastest shipping, which of course isn't free. What frightens me is that I got the strong impression that many of the people who had difficulty getting Scarlet Ninjini had and took the option of faster shipping. Hopefully if that was the issue, it won't be a problem when coming out of Italy.

I got Lightcore Pop Fizz because I've really enjoyed Punch Pop Fizz and his path choice was VERY hard for me, they both seem great. So now I can try the other path. Also I've understood that when Amazon lists a "Order this with that" option, that they give you a break on the price, they make you a deal, and this time no! TO THE PENNY it was just the price of both! (Well, all 4 figures)

There is the link to one of his comments about her availability i believe the first time he mentions it is on page 7 but you get the point. I understand peoples hesitation when it comes to believing someones information but I haven't been on this forum for long and my experience with what lesty says has been good. He gave us good info on the release of Jade. I think I said this on the same topic as his announcement but I will say it again, I am not telling anyone they have to believe what he says, but for me personally I will be at my local Target on the day he specified and if its not there then that is my own fault.

Even of she is not there on the day specified, it would be $2 gas lost and 20 minutes time out of my life. Will probably shop around while there anyway. Not that much of a loss for myself, others may have different criteria. But if she is there! Then great well worth it.

This forum has help me time and time again with figures deals etc etc, from what I have seen on DarkSpyro, most users are very positive and like to help out the community as much as possible. For one grown to be apart of DS and give out false info seems highly unlikely yet possible.

Lesty seems extremely confident that Scarlini will be there on the 19th, I do not doubt him either. One will either pass up on the opportunity to get her, or be there just in case. If I passed up on the Amazon exclusives I would be kicking myself right now. This gives hope to those that did or were not able to secure Scarlini in March.

As to the comments above from niceguy1, I can appreciate and understand your skepticism, but the fact of the matter is that Lesty was a reliable source about Jade Flashwing's US release. When lots of other people were guessing and hypothesizing about Jade Flashwing, Lesty was spot-on.
I'll preface this by saying that I do not know Lesty personally and I do not know with certainty what his/her occupation is. However, it has been implied that Lesty either is a corporate-level employee at Target, or s/he has direct connections to somebody within Target's corporate level. That may or may not be true, but I suspect it is true, based on Lesty's past track record here on these forums. People doubted Lesty's information on Jade Flashwing (some people even protested semi-aggressively!), but in the end, Lesty was correct and the others ate crow. Could that have been merely coincidence? Sure; it's possible, but unlikely.

When Lesty (allegedly) told you "you'll see who's right when the time comes", I can understand why you might have reacted negatively toward that statement. However, please keep in mind that IF Lesty is a corporate-level employee at Target, then release of "insider information" about release dates, etc. could be a punishable offense (up to, and possibly including, termination of employment) and Lesty is probably taking a risk just by dropping hints to us here on DarkSpyro. Could it all be a well-designed ploy? Perhaps, I guess. But why would someone do that? For attention, I guess? That's possible, I suppose, just extremely unlikely. Lesty did show that he had insider knowledge during the jade flashwing incident. However, this does not smell right not only was lesty not able to supply exact dates (outside of those appearing in the add) for Jade wing and suddenly can for Scarlet the releasing at multiple storesis not what activision does. They receive a kickback for supplying exclusives and I do not see them passing on a kickback here when there is likely interest. Something just sounds wrong about this specific information. As to the comments above from niceguy1, I can appreciate and understand your skepticism, but the fact of the matter is that Lesty was a reliable source about Jade Flashwing's US release. When lots of other people were guessing and hypothesizing about Jade Flashwing, Lesty was spot-on.
I'll preface this by saying that I do not know Lesty personally and I do not know with certainty what his/her occupation is. However, it has been implied that Lesty either is a corporate-level employee at Target, or s/he has direct connections to somebody within Target's corporate level. That may or may not be true, but I suspect it is true, based on Lesty's past track record here on these forums. People doubted Lesty's information on Jade Flashwing (some people even protested semi-aggressively!), but in the end, Lesty was correct and the others ate crow. Could that have been merely coincidence? Sure; it's possible, but unlikely.

When Lesty (allegedly) told you "you'll see who's right when the time comes", I can understand why you might have reacted negatively toward that statement. However, please keep in mind that IF Lesty is a corporate-level employee at Target, then release of "insider information" about release dates, etc. could be a punishable offense (up to, and possibly including, termination of employment) and Lesty is probably taking a risk just by dropping hints to us here on DarkSpyro. Could it all be a well-designed ploy? Perhaps, I guess. But why would someone do that? For attention, I guess? That's possible, I suppose, just extremely unlikely. Unlike a lot of internet boards (which are frequently rife with 10-year-olds), DarkSpyro seemingly has a more mature clientele (at least on this particular sub-forum).

I, for one, take Lesty's word about his/her prediction for Scarlet Ninjini's USA release. When I weigh all the possibilities, there's simply more reasons to believe Lesty than there are reasons to disbelieve. Is it possible that Lesty's wrong? Yeah. And if s/he is wrong, then maybe I'll be the one eating crow this time for believing him/her. Either way, you can bet I'll be visiting Target stores on the weekend of May 18/19th, and I'll let you know the results.

Lesty did show that he had insider knowledge during the jade flashwing incident. However, this does not smell right not only was lesty not able to supply exact dates (outside of those appearing in the add) for Jade wing and suddenly can for Scarlet the releasing at multiple storesis not what activision does. I will throw in my 2 cents..... For the skepticism that people had towards Letsy about Jadewing at the and still in some cases was/is acceptable due to the fact that people have come on here and have been giving out wrong info and got some people up in a frenzy when it was incorrect. Throw in the fact at the time he was new and it was his first time giving out information on it makes people question it. I do give letsy credit as he was correct in the most part about jadewing being at Target.

I always go by until I see proof I will take the info with a grain of salt. Just due to the fact that sometimes people are wrong and it is not worth getting in a frenzy over. Either way at the end of the day I will get Scarlet and Polar. Either by getting them in a store myself or having one shipped to me from overseas.
