Yeah, I think so for the right price that a buyer is willing to pay, never had one torn apart on me in transport.

^ if you buy through ebay and things reach you broken, you can just get your money back anyway- its part of the buyer protection- i'm certain it'll be fine

I've sold loose figures on ebay and make sure I pack them well so there is no chance of them getting broken.

If you are worried, just ask the seller how they will pack it first before bidding.

Unboxed figures will sell, but unboxed color variants? You're sure to get a hell of a lot of questions.

He was asking about buying one i believe, but why would you get alot of questions?
Currently i wish i could find unboxed variants, i'm only going to open them anyway and it would be cheaper

Almost all the variants have a different Serial number on their base.

They can be faked easily, especially the Golds, Silvers, GitDs, and the event exclusive ones.

Yeah, the ability to reproduce those guys is why I won't be unboxing any of my SSA variants guys...different story on Giants though. ALSO--the SSA game didn't allow you to see it was "authentic" which again they addressed in Giants as these guys will show up unique in the game as a "Special".

I personally have both bought and sold "loose" figures, with almost zero problems.
My advice: if you're buying "loose" figures (like off Ebay, for example), choose a Seller with a good reputation, and choose a seller who states s/he will always ship in a cardboard box (not "padded envelopes" or "bubble mailers"). If a seller won't commit to shipping with a cardboard box, it's because s/he's using "padded envelopes" or "bubble mailers" to keep his/her shipping costs low.

That said, I do not think Dark Spyro is particularly fragile. The "loose" figurines that need to be shipped with care include Chop Chop, Hex, Stealth Elf, Flameslinger, Swarm, Bouncer, Chill, Ignitor, Whirlwind, Drobot, Slam Bam (series 1), and Flashwing.

^Yeah, kinda reminds me of the seller who decapitates skylanders and puts Angry Bird heads on them---he also has "interesting" variants...along with legit ones...sellers like that I'd think twice about in terms of verifying authenticity.

Right on with the box stuff. I got a couple of skylanders this week in a bubble mailer as was shocked. Kinda figured it would happen, luckily no damage...but felt a bit cheated in terms of his perception of value on something I paid good money for.

I think they are. I don't see the value in the packaging like other people do. Although it looks nice to see the Skylanders in the box, they look better outside of it. Which reminds, I should really look for some used Skylanders figures at GameStop

I open all my figures so my son can play with them. Saying that I also have sold loose figures (Due to being from a 3-Pack or Starter kit) but package them in an opened skylander box (I may have used a Jade Flashwing box to ship a Punch Pop Fizz) to protect it and ship it in a bubble envelope. I have never had any complaints doing this.
