Proper Reset on a 'Special' Giants Toy [CLOSED]

My understanding is that "reset" clears out the owner so if someone new gets the toy it will register the next portal it hits as the owner and register it in their collection. It also resets the level and gold to factory settings.

However, on GITD, Gold and Glitter/'Special' variants, doing this also resets them to Level 1 and No Gold...when in fact the de facto configuration for these toys are Level 5 / 2,100 gold. What the reset function appears to do is reset ALL toys, regardless of how they came from the store--to Level 1/0 Gold.

Am I missing something here on properly resetting these 'Special' variants?

You are correct. A reset will send your skylander back to Level 1 and 0 Gold, it does not matter if it was a variant that was pre-leveled with some gold. I found this out the hard way when I got Blue Bash from TRU. When I got home and noticed that it was leveled up with gold, I thought an employee had taken it home and test it out and forgot to reset it when he/she brought it back. It wasn't til a month later I found out that it was normal for Blue Bash to be at level 5 with x amount of gold. Oh well...

Once reset, releveling the variant back to L5/2100 gold coins is about all you can do. Just be careful once you get close to 2100... its easy to go over the 2100 mark.

REWARD: for valid information that leads to the addition of an ULTRA RARE 2011 E3 Gill Grunt in the E3 packaging.

Hehe...so I put on some of my variants so I can have it add to my inventory, so now I guess I have to get it back the old fashioned way. Another thought is for me to simply open them up and just enjoy them.

Thanks for the confirmation--hey Activision---each of these figures need a specific reset parameter on the figure so it gets back to factory defaults...SHAME SHAME SHAME
