Before you say that this should be moved to the Skylanders section, please understand this a topic for Skylanders in general, not to one specific game or the toys. My question is, do you prefer Skylanders-the final product we got, or did you seem to wish that the game went more in the direction of what we were getting to see from Spyro's Kingdom?

They were the same game, the only real difference being the title. Of course, I understand why they changed the title - Activision would have seen potential in it selling well as a series and launching it as it's own brand would have been the best way to do that.
If the first game was called 'Spyro's Kingdom' and Activision were still carrying 'Spyro' in the title just for consistency sake, then it really would be beating a dead horse. The decision to change the title to 'Skylanders' meant that they wouldn't have to worry about confusion or a drop in sales if people didn't realise it was the same thing. Oh, and I'm not talking about the PC game 'Spyro's Kingdom' that was leaked last year, I'm talking about Spyro's Kingdom as in the alpha version of Skylanders that was due to release in 2010. |

Skylanders, for sure. SK surely had a lot of potential, but it was the same game with a worse premise - Spyro would be just the guy who gives you quests, though the artworks for it look a lot different and more epic than the quirky style for Skylanders. Not to mention I have to agree with TFB,some of the heroes they were going to have just wouldn't make it(Cyclops Slime/Tarclops, Flame wannabe dude).

I also agree that both of these games had potential but I mostly like Spyro's Kingdom for its conception and how it would turn out if it wasn't cancel. |
