Went to so many stores and got so much cool stuff. I even found a boomer that had a backwards card while look at the skylanders.

I got some at gamestop, and one of the chop chops was from toys r us so i got one on sale. I went to a bunch of different stores, mostly toys r us though.

I've never seen a card configured that way...so you're saying they did that in the first shipment? Wow I wasn't paying attention.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying. Here's a pic from around the launch of S:SA with a whole rack of them. They very quickly started facing the cards the other direction, but initial releases looked this way:

We have a Stumpy and Drobot like that. Didn't think I'd see any more of those floating around nowadays.

I'm amazed. I know a little bit more about skylander history. thanks for the enrichment.

I've been totally taking advantage of the 4.99 deal on skylanders. I think I've bought 30+ S1 skylanders in the last week. I'm looking like a bad hoarder now...sigh. I actually don't have enough room on my desk to load them up to take a pic, and my wife is complaining about the space it's taking...oh my.

Only sad thing is none of it includes Boomer or Zap...my two MIA comrades.

I'm as shocked as you are to see that packaged Boomer with the inverted card! Really didn't think that was possible. What it does tell me is that some TRU's still have SSA figures either boxed up in their store or are still getting SSA stuff from their distribution centers. Either way, I would suppose finding chase variants and assumed discontinued items can still possibly be found there...
