Pokemon made toys that interacted with games way before Skylanders was even thought up and invented. So, if you're putting it that way, technically, Skylanders copied Pokemon.

somePerson posted an image of one of their interactive figrue games, but they have made others before that one:

The Pokemon V-Trainers (Virtual Trainers) came around the time that Ruby and Sapphire versions came out (which was at least 9 years ago).
