Ever noticed how much the Skylanders Giants theme song seem smiler to Pirates of the Caribbean theme?

I guess they both do have a "Triumphant Theme" feel to them, but it seems a bit of a stretch to call them "similar". I can see where you're coming from, though.

I assume for Skylanders you mean the music which plays if you just leave it in the main menu, right? Where you would pick between Story Mode and Battle (PvP) Mode?

Heh, I thought I was the only one. It's got similar..uh..cresendos?. That jaunty feel is also in the Pirates them.

The composers aren't tied to each other at all (Lorne Balfe for Giants, and Klaus Badelt for Pirates) but they HAVE both worked with Hans Zimmer at some point in their careers. It just so happens that Balfe worked with Zimmer on additional music for Dead Man's Chest so...maybe there was a bit of an influence that way.

I was fairly certain Hans Zimmer wrote the main theme for 'Giants like he did for Spyro's Adventure, though don't hold me to that.

he did. Lorne Balfe wrote the in game music, but that theme you hear during the game load is Zimmer

Klaus Badelt, a friend of Zimmer's is the credited compser for PotC:CotBP however, Zimmer did in fact write much of the music and the orchestrations, but allowed his friend the credit

interesting. And yes that's the theme I was refering too. Though it's possible that style is for a 'Priate' time theme... Skylanders Giants does have a pirate like adventure (Ships and what not) but *shugs*.
