What is the highest level you can raise your individual Skylanders to? And is it worth it to raise them up anymore once they get to level 8 and can adventure to all areas?

Its worth raising them to 10. You will get a couple more Gems this way, plus if they ever raise the level cap or something like that, it will help you in the long run.

I suggest not using your level ten skylanders very often though, if you've got others who still need upgraded, or you will be missing out on the gems and stuff when they are promoted.
