Skylanders Coliseum Display - Now worth buying [CLOSED]

You know, I gave this product a lot of crap before, but....

Currently, it's on clearance at TRU for $14.99. And, this week, it's buy-one, get-one FREE. Basically, making it $7.50 each.

So, I picked up four more. smilie At $20, it's ridiculously overpriced. at $7.50, it's a pretty decent deal (though still has some flaws).

Yeah, they look really cool with the battle arena! It's a much better price now. I got a few on sale, but it's much cheaper now!

stacked them right u need at least 12 of them to make a semi coliseum out of them. the only problem is that you need to mod the top ones so as the giants base will fit in them. it looks really goos once you stacked them well.

Okay, fair enough. I am going to walmart at 1 today, to see if they got anything new. I will stop at TRU and attempt to buy 2 of them and post the receipt when I get home.

TRU tells me buy 1 get 1 40% off.

Called my store. Specifically asked about the Buy One-Get One Free on the Coliseum display. Was told it runs through Saturday.

^ Yes, I just got home from my local TRU and can confirm that both the Coliseum Display and Battle arenas here are only BOGO 40% off (asked the electronics manager just to confirm the signs were correct)... sounds like it must vary by the TRU location!!

I rang up a pair of colisuems when I clocked in at work today. There seems to be an unadvertised sale on them. When you buy TWO coliseums there is a BOGO free, but if you buy one coliseum and a character, its BOGO 40% off. Hope this helps.

Maybe I wasn't clear in my last post. There are two sales:

The BOGO 40% ALL Skylanders described in the paper, website, and instore signs.

Then the coliseums are on a seperate BOGO FREE sale. This second sale is ONLY for the colisuems and ONLY if you buy TWO. If you buy a colisuem and a Skylander it'll be considered BOGO 40% off. Conversely if you buy one coliseum it will be full price (At my store they are $14.98 now)I hope that makes it a little clearer for everyone.

I'm kinda sad that GM has A) Confirmed this deal on another website, B) Since posted multiple times on this site and C) Hasn't bothered to confirm the deal here. But for those *still* doubting (even after the other confirmations)...

If you only wanted to fit Series 1 figures inside of the displays, and stack the displays, it would take 8 with 4 Skylanders inside of each. You could stack 4 high and 2 rows of 4 side-by-side to get all 32 on display. That leaves 6 of the circular pods on top.

The best way to display Series 2, Newlanders, and Giants, is to build your own shelf, or on a bookshelf already set up in a room.

Has anyone stacked these and drilled holes in them and mounted them on a wall. If anyone has could you post pictures of it. I was wondering how they would look mounted to the wall to use as a display. If they looked good that way than you could mount some LED lights in them to light up the color of their elements.

Holy crap guys!

I went back to my "local" TRU today to pick up some more of these. Brought 8 to the counter and expected it to be ~$60.

Cashier gives me my total - $51.30.

Apparently, they're now ringing up as such:

First one - Clearance Price of $14.98.
Second one - Buy One, Get One Free.
Third One - Buy One, Get one 40% off - $8.99
Fourth One - Buy One, Get One Free.

I asked if it was supposed to do it. She said that's how the register is ringing it, so yeah.

O.O

So, roughly $6.50 each.

I went back and grabbed four of the other five they had left on the shelf. It's Saturday, sale ends today, so I don't feel guilty. Everyone had plenty of time to loot these. smilie

It's not perfect, but does a pretty decent job. Since I don't open my figures, aside from the starters, it's going to be awhile before I need all of these... but it's nice to be prepared. smilie

Thanks for the info about this. I never thought these things were worth $19.99 when they first arrived, but with the buy on get one and 40% off the second batch...I scored a bunch of these (37) for the kids. They averaged out a little over $6 each after tax. I kept going back for more...my wife never put her foot down, so I eventually (over three trips) wiped out my Toys R Us...who kept all of the stock hidden away in storage and not on the shelve.
