Sorry for the newbie question:
Do you have to collect the little glowing dots to gain experience? Seems unfair to kill things and then not get credit because you move past the dot. Also, what about when playing 2 player? does the person who collects the dot get the experience regardless of who made the kill? or is it split?
My wife & I have a rule that upgrades are tied to leveling*, so gaining levels is important to us and thus how to maximize experience gained is as well
*characters are allowed to purchase 1 basic upgrade at each of levels 3,5,7 and 9
1 path upgrade at levels 10,11,12 and then wow pow/soul gem at 13. keeps it more challenging for us

why? that is so easy to explain because there are blaze brewers in the level that give your experience meter from nonfull to 3 squares full

um, everything gives experience. I just wanted to know if it was required that I grab the little dots. We don't rush or grind. We do each chapter until we get 2 stars (everything but time) then I do a time run alone. We plan on doing all heroic challenges with all characters which is mostly where we level up.

I think I get what you're asking...and it's actually something I'm not sure on.
Sometimes, the dots will stay in the area so I have to pick them up. Other times, they disappear off screen but I get the credit for them a little later on, after I've left. They can't decide...

DragonsDream- I personally recommend doing three specific challenges before upgrading your characters abilities: Drobot, Zap, and Double Trouble.
These three characters challenges get harder to complete as you characters moves become more advanced and stronger |

Wow. That "levelling up" idea is great! I am about to start a new nightmare mode game with eight virgin series 2 figures, one from each element. I plan to play through the game with only those figures, and using no items. The concept of upgrades tied to levels seems like it could add to the challenge. I will see how it goes in the beginning, based on how easily experience flows. When you only have eight figures registered, you don't get much experience bonus.
