Okay, it's quite lengthy, but I just want you guys to hear every detail in order to help me find out what the issue is.
Basically I have had Skylanders: Giants for quite awhile now and it's never stuffed up on me, aside from the occasional portal hiccup (rarely it will randomly say to one of my toys that it's not compatible with the game when it surely is). I have over 30 Skylander toys and never has any stuffed up on me seriously either (the portal is fine reading them and recognizing them, saving them etc.).
Just recently (yesterday) I bought a preowned Boomer figure off an Ebay seller, since that figure for me these days is one of the rarest. I got home and tried Boomer out on Giants and he worked fine. I also tried him on S:SA and he worked fine too. There was no issue with anything, until i waited for a few hours and turned onn Giants again. This is when it happened. As soon as I clicked on my save file, the opening cinematic of Flynn's ship was meant to play, but there was a black screen (I could hear the music though, but no picture). Which was odd, has never happened before. Then I pressed the skip button and it showed the Portal screen, asking me to place on a Skylander like usual. I placed on Boomer and it said there was a problem with the toy. Naturally my first thought was that I was sold a faulty Boomer, however I then placed on my series 2 Chop Chop too see if what would happen - it said Chop Chop had a problem too. Because I am over a friends house, I am unable to try all of my Skylanders, I only have the prewoned Boomer and my Series 2 Chop Chop with me, however I'm sure that the game would treat all the toys the same...leading me to believe that it's not the toys. I don't know what to think guys, it's never happened to me before and I'm wondering what I should do? The portal and figures work fine on S:SA, but have a problem with Giants. Only when I play on Giants does everything go haywhire. Any suggestions? do I call Activision?

yes I do have it on Wii. Do you mean delete my Giants save data off my Wii? could it be corrupted? I tried deleting a save file off the game and starting new, and it didn't work.

Okay I read up on some Portal Issues and some other guy was having the same problem because he had his Portal positioned on an iron table, which apparently causes the Portal to stuff up. When he moved his portal to a better location, his toys worked fine. And Now I've moved my portal, everything is working fine. Does Metal surfaces and wireless interferences still affect the wired Portal?

^ It depends on what kind of metal. And wireless interfaces... mehh... dunno.
If Boomer gives you any more trouble, go to options, select General Options, and then hit "Reset Broken Toy". Hit it a few times, then play the game.

^What suprises me is that he was able to use Bouncer in SSA.

LegoLander, if you were referring to me, it was Boomer, not Bouncer. But yeah everything has been working fine now that I've moved the Portal away from the TV and Wii system. But like you said, that still doesn't explain why Boomer would work on SSA and not SG if it was the portal. Wouldn't he stuff up on both games?

I don't think it was Boomer's fault. One of my portals goes haywire every so often and declares Skylanders not working. The only ones all of my portals consistently been doing that with are my old Punchy and my Dino-Rang.

Could the game disc itself be bad?
