Just a curious thought... hopefully the release of Disney's infinity will boost Activision to make skylanders3 more difficult and in Dept because there is a huge lacking in the game and that's on line play. And with the younger groups attention pointed towards the more kid like game us spyro fans and lover's could get a on line skylanders with on line play. But maybe wishfully thinking. Also for us portal masters out there this could make collecting skylanders a lot less painfully and time consuming....lol ... just a thought I had... ramdom...

Online play would be nice, but Activision aims at a younger audience, and even though some of the crowd has online networks, Activision/TFB don't follow fans, but money.

Very true. But on line play could open up more cash for activision... downloadable content... just like um idk black ops map packs and stuff... wishfully thinking ... ya know

• the toys are $3 cheaper

•you can use them in all levels

• you dont have to spend $35 to get a new world

• you dont have to use cheap, crappy toys

Umm the Skylanders toys are the DLC.

They aren't DLC, the content is already in the game. I like it that way though because in 10 years my content will still be available, most likely the download servers will not be.

Disney does have some good characters but I think Skylanders will still be a much better game. I bet once Disney realizes things aren't going as well as expected they will drop the price.

I'm going to try Dinsey Infinity the same way I started Skylanders. See what's going to be out on day 1 and only figures I like. Take it home try it, if I hate it I have a friend who might be interested to take it from me.

It is ridicilous that you have to buy small discs to level uo the characters for $4.99 and you don't know which ones you are getting in the packs!

1) The Disney figures are more expensive but are also bigger than Skylanders.

2) Each set of figures has its own 6 hour story, making the game much much longer Skylanders. But yes no cross world play.

I know this a board with a lot of children but that was just idiotic.

As for me, If my daughter wants to give the Disney game a go, I will not say no. It looks fun and I think it'll be worth a shot.

The issue I foresee with the Disney game is with Skylanders, you really only have to worry about other Skylander players buying the figures you want.

Disney game will bring in a whole new group of the "Disney Collector" that will be buy the figures just cause they're Disney.

As for SLG, it seemed easier and shorter than SSA. Online play would be great, my daughter has friends that play who we chat with with kinect....would be great for them to join up and do the campaign together.

dont forget the sand box options for disney infinity which technically say endless gameplay as long some keeps making maps and open barriers to cross world play. this is just disney for now and just wait and see till they bring Tron, Marvel and Star wars Infinity. Acti/TFB will definitely shud work their assess off or do something revolutionary/innovative or they will be hurt pretty bad or even die slowly just per fan base.

Most DLC nowadays is already in the game.
Point I'm making is that all of the individual toys are DLC. Activision just came up with a clever way to market DLC.

most people don't know that by the time Infinity launches Avalanche will have been working on the development for nearly three and a half years.

while nobody can deny the similarities between skylanders and Infinity, Infinity isn't just a rush jump on the bandwagon idea.

2) Sure it's "longer", but Skylanders is as long as most games. Plus it also has endless hours of gameplay.

3) The play sets are still $35!!!!! They are trying to appeal to roughly the same target audience as Skylanders. But, people have all ready spent a lot of cash for skylanders. Do you think parents are just going to start buying their kids a new game that will be even more pricier? Probably not.

4) How do you think Skylanders are cheap? Some of the S1 are iffy at times, but were still great. Now the S2 and giants are fricken incredible! They are quality made toys. They are also made to last since they are also meant to be played with by children.

Bit of an unnecessary post but I'll bite.

1) Thanks for the compliment. What I meant by my statement was that you get more model and so you pay a little bit more. Nothing wrong with that.

2) Your statement here is an oxymoron so I have nothing more to say.

3) No, no. Skylanders target market is children. Disney Infinity's target market is all age groups. Disney has been making their films since the 1930's and has been around longer than that. Disney Infinity is more appealing to families who haven't jumped on the Skylanders train and to anyone who has fond memories of growing up with Disney.

4) I did not say that Skylanders look cheap, merely that they look cheaper then the Disney Infinity models. We'll have to wait and see when the figures actually come out.

5) Some people don't like Disney, fair enough, but you cannot make sweeping statements like that and expect to be taken seriously.

6) Except Toy Story 3 and Cars 2 The Videogame are two strong games that can be enjoyed by all ages.

7) My seventh statement was aimed at the fact that they said that they hated the game, which is pretty irrational as the haven't even touched the game yet. My statement was highlighting the fact that their statements are based on irrational emotions and not logic.

I probably shouldn't even bother, but I'll chime in here:

1) $3 is nothing. Skylanders also has $11.99 light core and $14.99 Giants.

2) Aside from battle mode, "endless gameplay" is an overstatement. Infinity has 4 player online co-op, 4 player online Toy Box mode with free downloadable/shareable levels and truly "endless gameplay".

3) Play sets are like the Adventure packs from SSA. Instead they come with two figures and a play set piece that adds 6+ hours of gameplay for only $35. Great value IMO.

4) I don't think anyone here can speak on the quality of Infinity figures, but with my experience with Skylanders, most of my figures are wobbly at the seams and quite a few have some weak limbs. Most of the press that have seen and used the Infinity figures have been impress with the quality.

5) Strange points, but Skylanders franchise just doesn't hold up to Disney to the general public. Disney appeals to kids and adults of all ages and has the theme parks, movies, television, etc. to back it up. Marvel/Star Wars/etc. have already been hinted at and are pretty much a lock IMO.

6) If I were to base my opinion of Skylanders off of the Spyro franchise, I would have never bought it. The Toy Story 3 game that Toy Box mode was based off of was well received, so hopefully they can build on that quality for Infinity.

7) The playground attitude against Infinity is pretty lame.

This is wrong. The discs are just power ups/items. Just think of them as magic items like in Skylanders, except that you can have 2 per character.

meh, the disney game doesnt look too interesting, primarily the fact that we know what the characters are going to be, the way they have designed it the most you can look forward to is more characters you already know, i like skylanders as each game involves something new, i too look forward to online elements making it into the game -- and online elements will allow activision to make new characters after the release of a game and allow patches etc to bring them into the game. has great potential for making money.

Agreed I don't hate the characters but they use toys that is what I hate it looked like a really cool game until they showed the toys I am not buying it.

Same here i agree and acknowledge every single statement except the last and 3rd to last statement, i don't really hate it, i just don't like it(not that far), and also not all of the disney characters suck, because some of them are pretty cool, example : Spectrobes , that is by far one of the few disney franchises that are cool, and do you know why ?, because the developers are from JAPAN so it's no wonder they don't suck that bad, so unless they send out these characters i'm almost never going to play that game, ever(because of the fact i might play it with my friends)
