As far as I know, there are only 4 Japanese Spyro Games.

These being:
'Spyro the Dragon'
[User Posted Image]

'Spyro 2: Tondemo Tours'
[User Posted Image]

'Spyro: Season of Ice' (Sorry small picture)
[User Posted Image]

and 'Spyro Fusion'
[User Posted Image]

These games are highly desirable for Spyro collectors (such as myself) and extremely rare.
'Spyro the Dragon' is the easiest to find as there are quite a few copies here and there on the internet.
'Spyro 2' is MUCH harder to find, I have only come across about 3 buyable copies, the cheapest one I could find is about £18.
'Spyro: Season of Ice' is only sold on ONE WEBSITE! Being sold for £39
and 'Spyro Fusion' is again only sold on one website, being sold for £39 aswell.

Anybody know where to find some cheaper copies of any o these games? (Preferably Spyro: Season of Ice and Fusion/Orange)

Whoa... I haven't seen a topic about Japanese Spyro in about 5 years. <.<; His voice is really... weird in those games. @.@

I think it's cool how 'Spyro' in Japanese looks like 'Ripto.'

^ That's how they came up with Ripto's name right? That's pretty cool.

Spyro's voice in those games sounds like a little girl, and the camera angle is set differently; and all these coloured signs are everywhere.

I wish we could have also seen Japanese Spyro commercials. Now that would have been cool.

When I first saw that cover I thought: "WTF RIPTO?!" Then I realized it actually said "Supairo".

The Japanese cover arts looks like cute cartoon-y characters.

A lot of people back in '06 and early '07 had variations of Japanese Spyro stuff as avatars for this site.

Have you tried Yahoo Auctions in Japan? You'd need a proxy but there is a few about. YAJ is more popular than ebay in Japan I've heard and so you might be able to import that way. Otherwise there's a Youtube guy named Lukemorse1 who lives in japan and so he might be able to buy you a copy and import providing you have the money and time.

I think Spyro and the characters that belonged in the classic universe looked cute and cartoony anyway; to me, it's just the Japanese version of it.

Your best bet is like what one of the previous users said is getting them from Japan using a middleman. Spyro 2 I say would probably be the hardest(like you said), I've tried looking around and most of the time you get the Japanese strategy guide coming up on Yahoo Japan auctions.I myself got a copy of Spyro 2 back in 2010 off Yahoo auctions, was about 700 yen(price and auction domestic shipping) and it cost me 1350yen(commission added on so price+ domestic shipping+ commission+ International shipping= 1350 yen) in total around £9.26 when I used TreasureJapan. My copy did not have the manual or cover art,but I must say Spyro 2 is certainly interesting in Japanese, especially the cutscenes before levels is interesting(Love Spyro's Japanese voice very cute.)

Anyway the best place to find Spyro 2 would be Amazon Japan where its anywhere from 970 yen(intotal) upwards used.
The same goes for the GBA games where you can get them used from around 341 yen upwards.

The Japanese version of Spyro fusion I have seen has been from 240-300 yen on Yahoo auctions.Spyro Season of Ice is known as Spyro advance in Japan and I've seen it on Amazon,no picture is shown but it is on the 2nd page of Amazon jp when searching for Spyro(スパイロ).
I'm not sure if you want the manuals boxes or not for the GBA games but most on Amazon come as cartridge only.
Japanese titles to search for games are : Spyro 1:スパイロ・ザ・ドラゴン (Like you said the easiest to find around 499 yen upwards.I got mine from ebay though in 2010 for about £10-15 complete)
Spyro 2: スパイロXスパークス トンでもツアーズ
Spyro season of Ice/ Advance: スパイロ アドバンス
Spyro Fusion : スパイロ アドバンス わくわくトモダチ大作戦! (google translates as Spyro Advance exciting! Tomodachi Daisakusen)
Would recommend searching Mbok auctions,Rakuten, etc as well it can simply be a matter of luck. The middleman I have used and best for me were TreasureJapan(My first and easy to use) and JapanauctionAgency(Known as Kairai on Livejournal).
From what I have heard FromJapan are meant to be pretty good to use as well.
Anyway talking of Japanese Spyro adverts here is one for Spyro 1: Lets teach kids to glide! lol

I have always been curious with what the signs say in Spyro 1 Japanese and Spyro 2 Japanese, but have never found a translation of them.

Here is a good tip. Look for it on by the Japanese name on the Japanese versions of Ebay and Amazon. Gets a lot more results.

The cover for Spyro 1 looks absolutely amazing. Gives me cavities just by staring at it. I've seen a few walkthroughs on Youtube... they have signs in the Japanese version. Weird. :P

Okay. But if they were tutorials, how come they were in every single level? Did they say anything different as the game progressed like backstory or something?
